Maximizing Student Growth While Creating Positive Memories
September 24, 2021
Tuesday, September 28th is an eLearning Basic Day. Students will log into Schoology to receive their assignments
If your child is a walker please read below
We need your help!
We need students arriving between 7:25-7:40. We currently have several students showing up too early which becomes a safety concern. Our supervision at the crossing guard locations cannot begin prior to 7:15. If you could please help with getting the timing down we would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!
Students of the Week

A Note From Our Transportation Department
Route Cancellation Process Our priority in transportation is to get students to and from school safely. We complete every measure possible in order to make this happen. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances can happen. Below is the process for when our district has to cancel a bus route: If a driver calls in sick before their morning or afternoon bus route, we use the following process to determine our response. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by any route cancellations. We welcome you to share our need for additional bus drivers with your friends and family. If you are interested in applying for a bus driver position, please visit our website at https://www.applitrack.com/DanvilleK12/onlineapp/default.aspx?Category=Transportation.

Websites
ParentSquare: Receive information about things going on at school. You can message teachers on here to communicate with us (or feel free to send an email)
Schoology: This is where the majority of their work will be found. Most classroom assignments and links are posted here! They can be found by clicking on Courses, then the subject that they are trying to complete work for. You also have a parent account (login is the same as Infinite Campus) and you can view what your student sees, as well as their assignments they've completed. After graded, it will let them look through the correct answers!
Infinite Campus: This is where you will find students' official grades. Not everything graded on Schoology will go in the official gradebook, so please use this one to keep up to date on grades! We also track attendance here.
ConnectEd: This is the website that links with the math curriculum! Students can access their home links, student resource book (it gives examples of how to solve problems and definitions) and it has a lot of fun games for kids to play to reinforce their math skills!
Ed: The reading curriculum is accessed here! If your child ever forgets their reading book at school and they need it, they can access it online here! Tests will be taken here, and some reading assignments will be done on this website as well!
IXL: This site offers tailored practice aligned to the specific standards students need to improve. Students have taken a diagnostic assessment, which targets specific skills students need to practice. Teachers also assign specific skill practice that aligns with the lessons currently being covered in class.
Destination Changes
For our bus riders, students will be limited to two possible bus destination addresses.
Walkers or Bike Riders
Crossing guards will be at key locations beginning at 7:15.
Walkers should not arrive earlier than 7:20. Arrival between 7:25-7:40 is ideal.
A bicycle rack is available outside door #14 for any bike riders.
Breakfast and Lunch
Click here to access the menu for North and South Elementary.
Breakfast is available each morning and is free for students this year. Students will “check in” at their classrooms first, pick up breakfast from the cafeteria, and then take it back to the classroom to eat prior to the start of the day’s activities.
Lunch is also free this year. Students are allowed to buy “extras.” Please discuss with your child if they are allowed to purchase these extra items or not. Money will need to be deposited in their account if students are allowed to purchase extras.
Due to current restrictions, no visitors will be allowed during lunch.
Nutrition Club
The Nutrition Club provides supplemental weekend food for children at North, South, and the Middle School each Friday during the school year. We all struggle at some point. The goal of this program is to ease a bit of the struggle. You are welcome to sign-up at any point during the school year. The food will be sent home in a plastic bag that can fit inside a school backpack or be carried. You only complete one form per family. List all of your children that you would like to participate. Each child in your family will receive their own cinch sack or bag on Fridays throughout the school year. This program is the result of the generosity of the Danville community! Please contact Chrissy Larkin with any questions. clarkin9893@aol.com or 317-563-2498. Please click on the link below for the form:
