Soaring Over MDE
September 10, 2021
Parking and Crossing
Please do not leave your car unattended while waiting for your student to exit campus. I would also like to remind all that the driveway by room 1 needs to remain open. This is keeping a fire lane clear for any emergencies.
Coming onto campus
If you need to sign up to be a volunteer:
An update has been made to the MDUSD volunteer policy allowing us to welcome back on-campus and in the classroom volunteers! We are thrilled to have you all back collaborating with our school team.
Starting September 1, 2021, all volunteers on campus will need to wear a mask (indoors and outdoors) as well as complete the volunteer requirements through our Human Resources Department https://mdusd.org/volunteer. In addition to completing the traditional steps to volunteer (TB test and fingerprinting), all volunteers will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
After you have complete the steps listed on the Human Resources volunteer section, volunteers will need to provide the school office with proof of being fully vaccinated. We are able to accept a vaccination card, picture of vaccination card, or COVID-19 Vaccine Record from https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/ You may email digital records directly to Mrs. Sanchez: sanchezk@mdusd.org
Due to the health and welfare of our staff and students during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be limiting the number of volunteers on any given day. Volunteer time will need to be prescheduled with the classroom teacher.

COVID-19 TESTING - NEW SCHEDULE
A new COVID testing schedule will begin on Monday, September 13th. This schedule will allow the testing company to staff more nurses at fewer sites, minimize the disruptions of daily school activities on fewer sites, and address the new requirements of testing for high school athletes and others. As we find lines getting long, we will communicate with the testing company that will provide additional nurses. The MDUSD website will be updated on Friday of each week with the testing schedule for the following week.
The new protocols are as follows:
- testing is ONLY for MDUSD students/staff and athletes will have priority
- preregistration online is no longer required
- for the safety of those on our school campuses, staff/children with notable active symptoms (congestion, fever, vomiting) will be turned away and should be seen by your health provider or at one of the locations noted on the MDUSD website under "Other Testing Locations"
To accommodate parents, other family members, and the community, our partners at PMH Labs will roll out a Saturday walk and drive-up testing center on the Concord High School campus from 8 am to 2 pm beginning Saturday, September 18th. It will be fully staffed with nurses and parking attendants to speed up the process for those needing testing, including those who may be symptomatic with active symptoms.
