Education Week - Open Day
Kindy Capers
Students have been learning new Heart Words over the past few weeks such as school, said, girl, boy, shop, went, like, look, his and her. Students are also learning new sounds every week. Just a reminder that the Homework can stay at home so that students can continue practicing their sounds, writing and making words.
Thank you to all parents and carers who visited our school for Education Week Open Day. It was a wonderful day and all the students enjoyed themselves and spent time with their families. Students showed their parents/carers all the learning that goes on within the classroom and their bookwork.
We ask that students bring a bag for their library books to ensure the book stays protected. It can be a plastic bag or any suitable bag to fit a book inside.
Regards,
Mrs Cauchi, Mrs Hopkins & Mrs Akkari
Kindergarten Stars of the Week
1 Moonstone
In 1 Moonstone, students have been working hard during mathematics. During mathematics lessons, students work together as a whole class to solve problems before breaking into smaller mixed ability groups. While this is happening, one group of students works with Mr Fink. At the moment, students are focusing on equivalent number sentences, such as 7+3=8+2.

Stage 3 News - High School Visit
Students in Stage 3 visited Colyton High School as part of the Science Transition Program. Each class participated in different hands-on lessons related to our current Science topic; Electricity. Students worked in small groups and recorded their observations using diagrams and scientific language.
Athletics Carnival
Last week, students from Years 2-6 participated in the Athletics Carnival. We have not been able to hold an Athletics Carnival since 2019, so it was great to see all the students having fun while participating in events, with many family members cheering them on.
Students were awarded a House point for every event they participated in, as well as winning extra points if they placed. Congratulations to Blaxland, who were the winning House, receiving 261 points on the day. Lawson were a close second, earning 251 points and Wentworth came third, on 206 points.
We sincerely thank all our parent volunteers, who helped the day run smoothly and efficiently.
Congratulations to all students who placed in their events. If students have been successful in qualifying for the district competition, they will receive a permission note in the coming weeks.
