Sunnymead Middle Stallion News
Week of November 9th 2020
Dear students and School family,
This week I noticed the smiles on students and teachers faces in classes over Zoom. Thank you for always smiling. Keeping a smile on your face is contagious to those around you. Try walking up to someone and smiling they will smile back. Doing things to stay positive is always important. You can try things like helping family members complete a task; exercise to keep your brain focused, and/or read a new book. You will focus forward and make strides in your life of kaizen.
Thank you to everyone who has been participating in the virtual events brought to you by ASB. Our student’s leaders in ASB and our marvelous teacher Mrs. Stromberg and Mrs. Fischer are always leading the fun online. Please follow us at @SMMSMV on twitter and Instagram and follow our ASB at @sunnymead_asb.
Recently several home visits have occurred by the Stallion Center, counselors, and administration. During these visits, we find out valuable information on how to improve student’s digital environments and how we can support students and families. Parents if you need any supports (including Internet hot spots) please reach out anytime.
At our school, we follow the Kaizen Way! Meaning we, are all making small positive incremental changes to improve everything in the school community.
Remember the following quote:
“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”-Albert Einstein
I am always available to support if you need anything. Feel free to call the school or email me anytime at jochoa@mvusd.net.
In kind regards,
Mr. Joseph Ochoa

History Fun Facts
- According to the Government Printing Office, “National Aviation History Month is dedicated to exploring, recognizing and celebrating America’s great contributions and achievements in the development of aviation. Aviation history refers to the history of development of mechanical flight — from the earliest attempts in kites and gliders to powered heavier-than-air, supersonic and space flights.”
- There is a aviation museum close by: The March Field Air Museum exists to educate the public. We do this by helping to promote an understanding of humanity’s reach for the skies, and connecting this still-unfolding story to March Field and its pivotal role in the development of flight. A number of resources are available to help make your visit more meaningful, including resources for educators; please choose from the menu at left. More information about the museum’s exhibits, and its numerous historical aircraft, can be found on the appropriate pages on this website."
- You can find more information about visting the MArch Field Air Museuum at https://www.marchfield.org/
