End of School Year Newsletter
We hope all of you had a good last week of school. This will be the last newsletter until mid-July. It has been an incredible year. If your child hasn’t already done so, consider having them spend some time writing or recording what it was like to be a middle schooler during this historic time. Before these times fade from their memories, have them consider things like:
What important lessons have you learned during these last few months? What has turned out to be really important to you?
What are some things that really aren’t as important as you once thought?
What habits have you started or stopped during your time at home?
How has this experience changed you?
What do you hope we all learn or take away from these experiences?
Finally, here are our fond memories from the end of the year as we sent off our 8th graders to the high school:
Our traditional video of baby pictures-to-8th graders. This was sent to all students on Thursday as part of our whole school celebration.
The memories of 8th graders during their time at LDMS, shared by our staff. Normally, we share a few of these at the promotion ceremony, but this year we were able to include more of them and in video, directly from the teachers. This was also shared with all students on Thursday.
Our 8th grade Drive Through - our staff’s way to say good-bye … while social distancing.
We hope you have a safe summer.

Warrior 101: Transition Program for Freshman
Each year, the Warriors 101 transition program helps support incoming freshmen by facilitating opportunities for them to meet upperclassmen, run through their class schedule, meet their teachers, tour the building, bond with peers, and learn about co-curricular opportunities at the high school. The program is planned for Wednesday, August 26th from 8:00 -12:00 pm. If the current situation prevents an in-person program, there will be an alternate virtual offering. Please click here to complete registration for your student so you are kept up-to-date with program plans.
We look forward to helping your son/daughter have a smooth transition to the high school. If you have already registered, you do not need to sign up again.
Thank you for your support. We found last year's program to be a great success, and we have been working throughout this year to make further improvements. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of us.

A Note from your School Psychologist:
It’s an unsettling feeling to be at this time in June knowing I’m signing off for the 2019-20 school year without having our traditional goodbyes. As I was thinking about how I would close this journey we’ve had together, I realized that I’m going to miss this outreach to all of you. It’s almost been like a journal for me--but a journal that felt more successful than my previous attempts at personal journaling. I’ve heard from so many of you how you not only enjoy, but also find value and comfort in these posts. I, too, value the time to write out my thoughts; share my family’s trials, tribulations, and celebrations; and most importantly, the underlying hope that we can all find solace in each other’s experiences as parents/guardians. Your parenting this year has been put through the test unlike no other school year. I value the new working relationships I have come to share with some of you during this time, and I look forward to future connections we may have together in the 2020-21 school year. If you are a parent/guardian of an 8th grader, I wish you and your child’s entrance into and continuation through high school a tremendous experience for growth. If you have a child(ren) staying at Lake Denoon for the upcoming year, please know you can reach out to me or our other student services staff for support and questions.
Take care, stay safe, be well, and have FUN this summer,
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, MNS is aware that you may have difficulty obtaining an appointment with your healthcare provider to obtain necessary immunizations for your student. We anticipate the Wisconsin Department of Health Services will provide additional immunization guidance for the 2020-2021 school year. The current immunization laws remain in effect until such guidance is provided. Please see the Family Immunization Guidance for 2020-2021 for more information:
