UK Awards 101

Interested in earning a graduate degree in the UK or Ireland? Come learn about what prestigious scholarships like the Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Gates, and UK Fulbright offer, what they are looking for, and how to make yourself more competitive.

This is the first of a two-part series. UK Awards 101 is intended for students of all years who want to learn more. Only a freshman or sophomore? The UK Awards 101 is a great way to learn about what you can do early in your career to prepare. A junior or senior? This 101 offers a good overview and allows you to assess your strengths as a potential candidate.

UK Awards 201 is for students intending to apply in the next application cycle (current juniors, seniors, or recent alumni). We'll review the campus nomination process, expectations for your personal statement, how to find appropriate graduate programs in the UK and Ireland, and expectations for letters of reference. UK Awards 201 will be held April 17 at 5:00 (Register here).

Hazim Hardeman, Temple's First Rhodes Scholar

Are you thinking, "There's no way I could ever be competitive for something like the Rhodes"? That's what Hazim Hardeman (Klein '17) thought.. But in 2017-2018, he was selected as Temple's first Rhodes Scholar. He's currently in England studying for his master's degree at Oxford. Read about his journey in these articles:
