Inter's Third Grade Newsletter!
October 26th-October 30th
Announcements!
*RAZ-KIDS!
Please make sure your child is reading each night, listening to the stories, and taking the quizzes. Reading for 20 minutes each night is one of the best ways for your child to become a better reader. Third Grade is tracking the number of books read in order for the class to earn incentives, such as a popcorn party! Thank you for your help with this!
*Multiplication flash cards are a great way for your child to become fluent with their multiplication facts! Students should be working with flash cards every night. If you do not have flash cards, check out these links to access apps (some are free!) for multiplication!http://elearningindustry.com/20-free-multiplication-ipad-apps-for-kids

*Character Day will be Friday, October 30th. Students can dress up as any character from a book of their choosing. Please make sure the students dress up as a school appropriate character- nothing gory or scary. Thank you for your help with this!
Dear parents,
Once again this year, the Inter Elementary community has decided to donate school supplies for the organization “Loving Arms.” Our grade level will be collecting, Play Dough, notebooks with lines, 80 pages of paper and erasers from October 21st to October 30th. Any supplies you would like to donate would be greatly appreciated for children in need!
Thank you so much for your generous time and support. We truly appreciate any help that we can get for the children at Loving Arms!
This week in Singapore Math!
Parents,
We want to encourage students to continue practicing their multiples using the multiple songs we learned in class. They will skip-count and practice writing down the multiple ¨songs¨ each day for the next 2-3 weeks! If they can write the whole song with proficiency, we will make them a ¨multiplication master¨ and their name will go on the corresponding karate belt on our math bulletin boards in class : ) They will have the opportunity multiple times to achieve proficiency. We are not taking this as a grade, this is only a way to boost motivation and fact fluency in their Third Grade year. This is a fun way to encourage students to practice these skills!
