Cougar Courier
May 17, 2020
Greetings from Dr. Garcia!
Wednesday, May 20th is the last official day of eLearning and scholars have until May 27th to turn in assignments. Final grades will be submitted by June 3rd. We will have our "Virtual Field Day" on Monday, May 18th. We hope you will take some time on Monday to participate with your scholars. It will be great fun for people of all ages.
Wednesday, May 20th is also the date for our Battle of the Books competition. We want to extend a special thank you to Ms. Simpson who rallied behind this beloved competition to make sure it was a reality for scholars this year.
While we are unable to celebrate our 8th graders in person this year, we have created a virtual awards show that will be shared on May 20th. We want our 8th grade scholars to know how proud we are of them, and we wish them the best of luck as they enter high school in the fall.
We want to recognize three of our retirees: Marcia O'Connell, Ann Sommers and Tom Mailloux. CIA will not be the same without you, but we thank you for your service to CIA and SBCSC and hope you enjoy retirement!
Mrs. Susan Davis will be representing Clay International Academy as our 2019-2020 teacher of the year.
Kindergarten enrollment is now available online. We have spots remaining in both the French Dual Language Immersion program and our international magnet.
The school buildings will remain closed to the public until July 1st. As soon as we are able to distribute belongings, we will notify parents of the details. We will distribute yearbooks at the same time that we distribute the belongings. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
I hope you have a wonderful last week of virtual learning and be sure to follow us on Facebook for continued updates.
Blessings,
Dr. Garcia
