Principal Post
January 15, 2023
Holy Trinity Families,
This week we begin the final quarter of 2022-2023 school year. The year is flying and I know the next 2 months will be no exception. Spring is busy at HT with many activities and opportunities in our community. Reserve your spots for the events coming up.
Don't wait! Sign up for our St. Baldrick's event in May. Registration will close on April 30th. To register your shavee please visit https://www.stbaldricks.org/events/HolyTrinity2023. We welcomed Mrs. Caruso from special spaces https://specialspaces.org/. We learned about this local organization that creates dream bedrooms for children with cancer. We will be raising funds during our St. Baldrick's event this year to help provide a special space for a local child.
Finally, tickets are on sale online for the HT drama club's rendition of Seussical. You are not going to want to miss it so reserve your seats today!
Blessings,
Kim Kuchta
EdChoice Scholarship Information- please make your voice heard!
Please see the information below from Dr. Frank O'Linn, Superintendent of Schools. To give some background on this, currently the EdChoice Scholarship is limited to jurisdiction and income.
This bill opens this scholarship to every student in Ohio which is a game changer for anyone attending a Catholic elementary or high school. Please click on the link below so that your voice can be heard.
Important information from the Diocese of Cleveland Superintendent:
The "Parent Educational Freedom Act" is in Ohio’s Senate Education Committee, and now is the time to let your voice be heard. Use this link from the Catholic Conference of Ohio to contact your Ohio Senator: https://www.votervoice.net/OHCATHOLIC/Campaigns/101143/Respond.
Brief Summary:
S.B. 11, the “Parent Educational Freedom Act,” calls for every Ohio student to be eligible for $5,500 for grades K-8, and $7,500 for grades 9-12, to be used at any chartered non-public school that accepts the EdChoice scholarships.
This enables the state’s education funding formula to support students where their parents want them to attend.
All local taxes still stay with the local public district, even if they have fewer students to educate. The scholarships are funded only by the state’s share of the funding formula, which is supported by all of our taxes.
The bill also increases the homeschooling expenses that a taxpayer can claim for an income tax credit from $250 to $2,000 a year.

Angel Scholarship Distribution Information
Dear Holy Trinity Families,
Thank you again to all who donated to the Angel Scholarship. Your contributions made Holy Trinity School one of the top ten in donations in the Diocese of Cleveland. As a result, we now have over $125,000 available for tuition assistance for the 2023-2024 school year. The funds will be distributed in October of 2023 to offset the cost of tuition for next school year.
There are three steps involved in this process:
Complete and return the Angel Scholarship application that is attached. Please scan and email to finance@htsavon.org.
Complete the application for Diocesan Tuition Assistance through FACTS. https://online.factsmgt.com/aid
Please note: Application and the completion of the DTA are due April 15th. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
Please note that we can only distribute funds to those who apply so please take the time to complete the application so that we can help as many families as we can.
If you have questions about the process please contact Kim Kuchta in the school office or Colleen Stalla at finance@htsavon.org.

We do have limited space in preschool, kindergarten and some other grades. If you know a family looking for their new school home next year please tell them to set up a tour by contacting Julie Scanlan at julie.scanlan@htsavon.org.

Staff Spotlight- Mrs. St. John
Holy Trinity Parish and School have been a part of my life for over 20 years. My husband and I joined the parish when we moved to Avon. Both of my daughters attended Holy Trinity, went on to attend Magnificat High School, and have graduated from college. I have enjoyed every minute of being a part of this Holy Trinity community, have met some of my best friends, and have had the opportunity to participate in numerous ways. As a parent I have been CYO cheer commissioner and coach, volleyball coach, PTU member , PSR instructor, Spring Fling chairperson, and room parent just to name a few. By far my most rewarding experience has been having the opportunity to share my faith and to teach ELA to fourth and fifth grade. Getting to know these students both inside and outside of the classroom is a joy.
