Den Group Adjustment - We will be moving our April Den Group Mtg. from April 11 to Wednesday, April 18 (PM Schedule). We'll have an Earth Day Theme (presentation from EPA club and planting activity). Details will follow, but be aware, no Den Group Mtg on the 11th - it's the week we get back and Earth Day is important. Stay tuned...

SECURITY - #1. Please be extra vigilant in making sure that the gates are closed at all times. If you notice the playground gate open, please close it. #2. I'll be putting out a memo Friday that explains that starting next week, we will be keeping the front door by Kindergarten locked. Staff will be asked to enter through the visitor's door with their ID badge. Students in before care and students/families entering in the morning will need to be buzzed in at the visitor's entrance.

Note from the Principal:
Happy Friday!
I have been excited all day since Dr. Smith emailed last night about an idea for virtual instruction that would allow students and staff to keep their Spring Break plans, but still deliver the instruction mandated by the state.
Not only is it an innovative and forward thinking response to a problem, but it provides a great opportunity to try something new and to have some fun. We have the chance to do what we always talk about - making real-world connections, making learning authentic and open-ended as well as utilizing some cool tools (maybe Flipgrid, maybe Padlet, etc...). Let's set the tone throughout the district on Monday. There will be plenty to be nervous about or fear, but let's attack it positively and try to design some creative and open-ended opportunities!
It is really cool that we have a leader in our district that embraces opportunities like this, so let's follow the lead and make it awesome. Talk to me during the day if you want to kick around ideas or brainstorm anything. Grade levels will meet after school to design a menu or "choice board" that will be shared with parents. Essentially we'll include LA, Math, Science/SS activities and special areas will create a K-2 experience and a 3-5. You'll get more details on Monday in your grade level group, but feel free to send any questions my way in advance. If you are a CST member, counselor, Nurse, or therapist, Paulette will send info your way. If you are a special ed teacher or TIP teacher, just link on w/ the grade level you work with most.
This is an exciting opportunity that allows for students to learn wherever they are and allows everyone to have SPRING BREAK!
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Chris
