Back to School 2018
Welcome to the 2018-19 School Year
Dear Wegienka Families,
Administrators and teachers everywhere recognize the important contributions parents make toward a child’s success in school. There is no question about it-success at school begins at home. Parents are the single most important variable in a child’s schooling.
One of the most important components of a good school is the partnership between the school and parents who work together for the best interest of children. The close partnership between home and school is one of the exceptional strengths of Wegienka Elementary School.
Wegienka Elementary has a strong tradition of supportive, hard-working parents. Throughout the year parents have the opportunity to develop that partnership in a wide variety of ways. Parents join the PTO, volunteer in the classroom, help at the carnival, attend field trips, are a Motor Mom or Dad, read to their children and help in many other ways. By being involved, your child realizes you think his or her school is important. Last year our PTO had over 1,500 documented hours. That shows the exceptional partnership parents have with the school.
As we work together during the year, I invite you to stay in contact and let me know how you and your youngster(s) are experiencing school. There will be many opportunities for contact with me, please don’t hesitate or ever think your comment or concern is unimportant. Through team work, open communication, and a dedication to continuous improvement, we can make this school a place children delight in and enjoy learning.
We look forward to working together as partners in learning.
With gratitude,
Michelle Briegel

Emergency Cards
Please be sure you have turned in the emergency card form to your classroom teacher. It is vital that we are able to contact you during the day. If your phone numbers change, please send a note to school so the information can be changed in our computer system.
Pick Up and Drop Off
If you are using the side door to pick up your child, you must bring your number with you daily. The side door is near the big rock towards the office. (Not the main doors) Please remember that parents can only use the parking lot near the office. The other lot is our employee and bus lot.
Character Trait of the Month- Kindness
Important Reminders
Tardies:
Please be sure to bring your child into the office if they are arriving late to school. We need you to sign them in at the office.
Early Pick Up:
Please remember that we are teaching until the very end of the day which is3:30 p.m. It is very disruptive to sign your child out early. We do not dismiss students after 3:00 p.m. due to making sure all students are where they need to be for dismissal.
