Storyboards BEFORE filming!
Video Recording Tips
Check the audio. Play back each clip you intend to use and make sure you can hear it. If it's too quiet or has too much distracting background noise, re-record.
Record 3-5 extra seconds before and after the action. You will need this for editing. To start, hit the record button and count down out loud and with your fingers 3, 2, then for 1 don't say it, just use your finger and for 0 point to the actor. It's very hard to cut out the sound of you saying "1" and "go".
Watch the lighting. We should be able to clearly see everything. No one should be in silhouette unless you intend them to be.

Video Editing Options
WeVideo (all platforms)
If you would like to use WeVideo for your class assignment, have your teacher contact your campus DLC. If you would like to collaborate with others, we can set that up. After this school year, your accounts will revert back to the free account.

Adobe Express
Adobe Express is the easiest way to make a video from images with voiceovers. It' works with Chromebook, Laptop, iPad or smartphone App . Start with images, then press the record button to record your narration. It prefers recordings limited to 10 seconds per image but will allow up to 30 seconds per image. It automatically makes the image duration match the duration of the voiceover recording. When finished, export then upload to Google Drive to attach to your Canvas assignment. It is recommended you finish the project on the same platform (website, app) it was started on.

iMovie (Apple/Mac)
iMovie comes free with more recent iPhones and iPads. Add video clips and photos locally, from iTunes or iCloud, and you're able to move or trim them, add filters and effects, adjust speed, audio, use green-screen, and more. Built-in templates and themes help to coordinate graphics, titles and transitions, or you can take manual control and do things your own way.
If interested, talk with your teacher about reserving a cart of CHS iPads for you to use.
Music Option
Megatrax!
Depending on which tool you use to create your presentation video, you might be able to add background music. Some tools come with a built-in set of allowable songs while others do not. In FISD, we pay for students to have access to Megatrax for such projects. Get login info from the CHS Resources button in your CHS Canvas courses.
