Fall Pep Rally

Student Council planned and led our 2017 Fall Pep Rally on November 21st. It was the perfect way to spend our last half day together before the Thanksgiving Break. Abby Z. sang the National Anthem. Our Officers, Kat, Garrett, Cadence, and Aaron recognized our Fall Athletes from Tamanend and South and highlighted their seasons. Our Pep Band blew us away and kept spirits high! Our Cheer Team led the 9th graders to a RoARing victory in the Spirit Cheer. The Spirit Stick was presented to Mr. Dennis on behalf of the Freshman Class. Teaches beat the students in the annual volleyball game officiated by Mr. Boyle.

Greco Roman Day

Submitted by Paige S., Gr 7

Last week the 7th Graders went back in time to Ancient Greece. They learned about its history, played in the Olympics, went on a 3D tour of Greece, and even got dressed up in Togas! Excellent job 7th graders and 7th grade teachers with this outstanding Greco Roman Day!

Thanksgiving Feast

Mrs. Caton's students enjoyed practicing their speech and language skills while making a Thanksgiving Feast that they later enjoyed with their parents, teachers and support staff.

Winter Dance Notes

We are looking forward to our Winter Dance this evening. It is a more dressy, but not formal, dance. It starts at 7:30 p.m. and students must have their Tamanend Middle School ID card with them as they enter the dance. We stager dismissal to help with safety. The 7th graders are dismissed at 9:20 p.m. Eighth grade is dismissed at 9:30 p.m. Ninth graders close the dance leaving at 9:40 p.m. We ask that those families driving to Tamanend from the direction of Kelly Road, please pick up in the bus loop. Those families that approach Tamanend from the Bristol Road direction, please pick up using the main lot (by the tennis courts). Following this traffic pattern will alleviate some congestion on Stuckert Road and keep traffic moving smoothly.

Gold'n'Blues Perform Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, December 2nd, our incredible Gold’n’Blues will perform at Montgomery Mall for the WXTU Toy Truck Parade. Their performances are at 10:35 a.m. and 11:25 a.m..

Who Wants to be Linked in Unity?!

Our next Link to Unity is on January 20th. This L2U is open to all 7th, 8th and 9th graders who want to come together to have fun and learn leadership and advocacy skills. Each L2U can hold 60 students and students can self nominate by filling out a quick L2U nomination form. We will send invitations based on nominations in early January.

Please note, L2U starts at 8:30 and ends at 11 a.m. Being that it is an action and learning packed two-and-a half hours, students must commit to attending the entire session (no leaving early). Participation is free and student participants get a L2U t-shirt at the end.

For more information about L2U, see the link below.

Student Car Rider Drop Off/Pick Up Pattern

It is highly recommended that parents/guardians of students who walk or take the bus have their students walk or take the bus. On days, when students need extra help getting to school, please consider driving them to their assigned bus stop and wait together in the car until the bus arrives. A student will never be marked tardy if they arrive by bus.

If parents/guardians decide to drive students to school, please plan enough travel time to allow for safety and congestion on Stuckert Road and in our school parking lot. The speed limit in our lot is 15 mph.

The following is a mapping of how the student drop-off works in our parking lot. Drop off should only happen along the sidewalk indicated by paw prints on the map. For your safety and the safety of our students, please follow these directions and do not drop your student off on Stuckert Road, the Visitor's Parking area, or in the middle of the Main Parking Area. Thank you for your support and careful driving.
