Welcome Kindergarten Families
2018-2019 School Year
Tuesday, August 28th or Wednesday, August 29th
Last Name Begins with the letter A - M: Your child will start on Tuesday, August 28th. Please bring your child to the cafeteria on Tuesday, August 28th to sign in your child from 8:15-8:30 if your last name begins with the letter A-M. (Note: Your child will not come to school on Wednesday, August 29th.)
Last Name Begins with the letter N - Z: Your child will start on Wednesday, August 29th. (Your child will not come to school on Tuesday, August 29th). Please bring your child to the cafeteria on Wednesday, August 29th to sign in your child from 8:15-8:30 if your last name begins with the letter N-Z.
At 8:30, students will line up to begin the day and head to the kindergarten classrooms! This is a good time for hugs, kisses and to let your children know how excited you are for them to begin kindergarten! We know it can be emotional, but we expect families to say goodbye at this time and stay in the cafeteria for a short orientation with kindergarten teachers, PTA, and administration. This short orientation will begin promptly at 8:30 and end at 9:00. All families are expected to attend.
Other important things to know for both days: Transportation is not provided, after school care is not available, and we will not have lunch. Please pick up your child in the lobby at 12:30. The only supply needed for this day is a hearty snack. On this day, we will do many fun activities to get to know your child!
On Thursday and Friday, you will bring your child to the kindergarten wing by following the blue path. We will have extra staff on hand to help you find your child’s starting room. These will be a few more days for us to get to know your child before classes are assigned. This will be a full school day with snack, lunch, and bus transportation. The After-School program will be open on Thursday for those enrolled. Thanks to those who tried our new system for contributing supplies. If you haven’t yet and wish to, your child may bring supplies at this time. Most supplies are communal, but please clearly label clothes and place them in a labeled Ziploc bag and label snack/lunch boxes. Your child will need money to buy lunch or should bring a lunch from home. In kindergarten we have a snack each day. We try to have extra snacks just in case, but please make every attempt to send your child with a healthy snack every day. We also appreciate contributions of extra snacks for children who may forget theirs.
This year we will have a series of questions for you to fill out on the form linked below.
We value your input and this form will be a chance for you to tell us about your child. We even ask that you include a picture if possible- don't worry if you can't upload photo. We ask that you complete this form as soon as possible. This will give us a chance to review the form and get administrative things done on our end. Thanks in advance for your prompt attention to this.
See you Soon!
Please make sure your child is registered for Kindergarten! Also, encourage friends, family, and neighbors to register so that we can begin the year fully prepared to meet all of the children’s needs. We will look forward to sharing more information about our classrooms and the curriculum at the Back-to-School Night.
Thanks in advance for trusting us with your children. We enjoy doing our orientation this way because it allows all teachers to get to know all of the students and we truly take a team approach with regard to their social, emotional and academic development. We are looking forward to a wonderful year together! Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation. We are so excited and can’t wait to see you all soon!
