New Curriculum Summer Training
The DeKalb County School District is offering summer training for teachers, directly related to the District’s new K-12 Board-Approved Curriculum!
The critically-important summer training will provide hands-on insight into the "point & click" curriculum platform and the contents/resources contained within the curricular units, as well as instructional and progress-monitoring strategies for teachers to incorporate.
Accordingly, Compensated Summer Training is being offered to identified DCSD K-12 Teachers (Elementary, Middle and High School) that teach Math, English, Social Studies, and Science
*Regardless of the school level (ES, MS or HS), if what you teach is contained within one of the 4 core content areas (listed above), the summer training is for you.
Likewise, the following teacher groups that either co-teach, are self-contained, and/or support general education teachers should also attend summer training:
- Special Education
- ESOL
- Teacher-Librarians
- Instructional Support Specialists
Additionally, select CTAE Teachers should also attend summer training, as well. The identified CTAE course areas are as follows:
- Intro to Business & Tech (Entrepreneurship)
- Web Design
- Work Based Learning
Please use the attached to assist you in registering for courses. Druid Hills High is one of the session locations - training will be held here in the 200 Science Labs June 5-8, 12-15, 19-22, and July 10-13 (8:30 and 1:00 sessions).

HVAC Issues - Main Building
End of the Year Cleaning Reminders - From Mr. Roberts
Please make certain that the book rooms you store your goods are organized and clutter free.
Please remove All ITEMS stored on the floor by placing them on shelves.
Also, in your classrooms, please remember to remove ALL items from the floors and desk bottoms, especially books, before the end of the school year.
Obviously, this will enable the custodial staff to come into your areas and take care of the business of removing furniture and scrubbing floors more easily, rapidly and efficiently.
Your preparedness, in this case, will enable the custodial staff to spend more time getting the entire school house ready for the next school year.
*Last but not least...The recycling committees should be coming around one final time soon to collect recycled materials. The custodial staff is more than happy to assist with getting other items out of the building if you need help ridding junk.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Hope you have a safe, restful, enjoyable and productive summer.
Thank You
From Coach George:
On behalf of the Druid Hills High School Track Team, I would like to express my profound gratitude for your generous donation to support our athletes at the Georgia High School State Championship meet. Your donations will go a long way in providing hotel accommodations, vehicle rental, gas, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We do not take your generosity for granted. Your selfless service to our students is highly appreciated. Again, thank you for your donations, compassion, and community support. May God bless you immensely.
From Senior Chief:
I would like to thank everyone for your out pouring of Love and Generosity shown to the track team this week. I have always believed that one receives not because they ask not. I am very pleased to announce that we were able to surpass our monetary donation goal to help our track team as they prepare to compete at the 2017 Georgia High School Association Track & Field State Championship. The track team also reverberate these same sentiments. Also, let’s keep them in our thoughts and wishes as they prepare to compete. In my book, they are all winners even before they run one race or pass one baton.
Congratulations Ms. Robinson
