Northwest Missouri Area Health and Education Center is partnered with Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, MO. The program is designed for students that are interested in healthcare careers. They offer once a month workshops where they highlight a different health career.
They have professionals from these areas come and speak about what they do on a daily basis, their education they received and do some hands-on activities related to that particular career with the students.

These workshops are open to any high school or undergraduate student and there is no cost to attend. Most of the workshops will take place at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Attached is the 2019-2020 Pipeline calendar for those interested in attending.

Sending Breakfast/Lunch Money

Parents should have received a message from the District about our new online meal payment system. Please note, you can still send payment via check or cash with your student to school for depositing to their account. To use the online system, parents should create an account the first time they want to deposit money. You will need your student’s 10-digit student ID number. To get the student ID number, you can either: 1) Log onto SIS-K12 Parent Portal on a computer. The student number is available under the “Student Details” page, which is in the “Student Information” section at the bottom of the left-hand navigation menu. The ID number will be at the top of the page under the student photo, or 2) In the “Student 360” phone app, the student ID will be next to the student name at the top of the app screen. If you cannot find the number, please contact our office for assistance.

Click here to access K12 Payment Center.

Changes to Student Reminders Via Text

PCHS Parents and Students: Over the last several years, PCHS has kept students and parents informed with notifications via the Remind app. Unfortunately, Remind has changed its policies and is limiting the number of subscribers per user, making this service not cost-effective for our district. Going forward, we will be utilizing our existing School Messenger system to send text notifications to students who opt in. This is the same system many parents have opted in to receive PCR-3 text messages.

  1. If you have previously provided permission for PCR-3 to communicate with your child via telephone on our re-enrollment form, your child can simply text "YES" to 67587 to begin receiving reminders from PCHS via text.
  2. If you have NOT provided permission for PCR-3 to communicate with your child via telephone on our re-enrollment form but wish to do so, please complete the form linked here and send to Suzanne Frame at frames@platteco.k12.mo.us or turn into PCHS's front office. Once your child's phone number is entered into our student database, they'll receive an opt-in message from 67587 and can text "YES" to 67587 to begin receiving reminders from PCHS via text.

Text messages to individual grade levels will be identified at the beginning of the text, i.e. "PCHS 2020:" will be a message to this year's senior class, and "PCHS 2023:" will be a message to this year's freshman class. All school messages will start with "PCHS Msg:"

We will have paper forms available in our office as well for parents to complete. If you have any questions, please contact Suzanne Frame

Fall Musical Auditions

Are you ready to "Cut Loose" for the PCHS Fall Musical Footloose!? One of the most explosive rock 'n' roll movie musicals in recent memory will burst onto the stage this November here at Platte County! When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren isn’t prepared for a ban on dancing. "Footloose" follows his journey with his peers to celebrate the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind, as well as putting your feet on the ground to dance your heart out!

Auditions are Sept 9 & 10 from 3:00-6:00 with callbacks on Thursday, Sept 12 from 3:00-6:00 in Wilson Auditorium. Informational meetings for auditions and to receive paperwork will be on Tuesday, Sept 3 at 7 am and Wednesday, Sept 4 at 3:00 pm in room 45. More information can be found at pchstheatre.com. Professional Learning Community (PLC) Early Release

On Wednesday, September 11, students will be released two hours early for our first Professional Learning Community(PLC) day of the 2019-20 school year. PLC days are designed to establish sustained and uninterrupted time for teachers to work together and collaborate to improve student learning and achievement. This time allows educators to examine and respond to the four basic fundamental questions of a Professional Learning Community:

  • What is it we want students to learn?
  • How will we know when each student has achieved the learning?
  • How will we respond when a student is not learning?
  • How will we respond when we know a child has mastered the learning?

For more information on PCR-3's Professional Learning Community, visit the PLC page on the district's website.

Bullying and Safety Concerns

Safety is one of our district’s top priorities and to help safeguard our school community, our district is now using SafeSchools Alert, a tip reporting service that allows students, staff, and parents to submit safety concerns to our administration.

You and your child can easily report tips on bullying, harassment, or any safety issue you're concerned about through SafeSchools Alert.

Every tip SafeSchools Alert receives about our district is immediately logged in the system and our administration is notified so that they can investigate and take appropriate action. And, tips may also be submitted anonymously if you prefer.

Together, using SafeSchools Alert, we can make our district a safer place to learn!
