A New President
George Washington
He Leads Us Through Rebelion
1774
Unhappy about the taxes on Whiskey, passed by King George and his loyalists to pay of the French and Indian War debts, farmers started to boycott against the tax. Raising a force of over twelve thousand troops, Washington successfully helped with the rebelion and eventualy convinced the government to repeal the taxes on whisky. Even though we are still paying taxes for parchment, goods with sugar, and tea we are hopeful that our new president will continue to help us repeal the taxes for the war we fought in.
