The purpose of Athletics is to become a better athlete and to conditione well. You should join for many, many reasons. To begin with, you should join to play in sports, including: basketball; volleyball; cross country; and track. Also, you will enhance many things. First, you will be better at the sports you play. Secondly, you will be much more fit than you already are! As a bonus, you will make new friends and become a team with many people. There are only a few challenges such as the following: you will be sweaty for you following periods; you may have a short amount of time to change; and if you’re in a sport, you will have early morning practices (ex. 6am).
Musical Theater...
The purpose of musical theater is to get better at acting/singing. You may have to sing in front of everyone and have late practices, but you have several good things too. Musical theater builds confidence! You make many new friends, 7th and 8th! You get to act and sing during a school day! Also, you will sometimes earn pizza after late afternoon practices!!
Yearbook...
Not a gigantic amount of people are in yearbook, but the ones who are get to share all the crazy and creative ideas they come up with! You might have to make a lot of time for this certain experience, but that might just be worth it for the ability to share you creative ideas, even if you have insecurities. You may miss fun events because you have to do something for the yearbook, but you make new friends along the way. Also, don’t forget deadlines, they are a challenge! Lastly, this experience gives you the opportunity to be involved in school!
Cheer...
At WMS, there is a cheerleading team for improving your skills! Many great things come while being on this team. You get to be in pep rallies, cheer at games, and have competitions. You get the chance to be on a team, even though you may get a few injuries.
Broadcast Journalism...
The purpose of Broadcast Journalism is to learn more about reporters, news, etc. Perks for being involved: you make friends; you never get homework; and you play games. Coming up with a story and finishing reports are a pain, but it’s worth learning about interesting stories.
