Name Your Region Rabbit

Duckies Name Game

Duckies Funny Farm in Chattooga County, GA (Region 1) has asked for our students help. They have a farm full of rabbits that need names. They have agreed to let our students vote on a name for each rabbit and that rabbit will be the mascot for our region. Not only do our students get to name the rabbit, but they will post the name over the rabbit’s door and post updates periodically on their Facebook page and on the GCA PTSO Webpage. We will also try to get our Region Rabbit to an event for our students to see sometime this year. Below, type in your students name suggestion and out of the list, we will pick the 5 names for you to vote on.

PTSO General Membership Meeting

September 24th, 2015

This will be the first 2015 - 2016 General Membership Meeting. In the past few years, we have had our membership meetings following the GCA Parent Meetings, but this year we will be changing things up a bit. Being that the PTSO has grown so much this year, we have more to discuss and would like to take this time to explain what we can in the allotted time. Please make plans to join us on September 24th at 7 PM in the Coach Cafe. Everyone is invited. We will be discussing the upcoming plans for the 2015 - 2016 school year, Coach Cafe, Perks Program, Daily Juice, just to name a few. All committees will be presenting.
Click Coach Cafe for the meeting link.

New Region Co-Chair

With our Region events and numbers of Leads and Co-Leads, we felt it was appropriate to add this position to our list of volunteer positions. This is not a position on the Executive Board, but all of our Chair and Co-Chairs are very important. Our wonderful Board Member, Region Chair Angela Nowitzke, has worked hard to get the Regions active this year. Jennifer Luttman has agreed to step up and help Angela with the huge job. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jennifer for her hard work.

Coach Cafe

The PTSO held their grand opening of The Coach Café on August 25th and have many more scheduled for throughout the upcoming year. These will be coach-to-coach help sessions that we will open frequently. As a new learning coach, you may be reluctant to ask for help; It may feel more comfortable talking to other learning coaches in similar situations, thus, the Coach Café came to fruition. The Coach Café will have experienced learning coaches hosting sessions to help other coaches and answer their questions. Questions can be asked and answered in the main room or can be sent to breakout rooms for private issues. Both will be available to keep the learning coach comfortable. We have 6 meetings scheduled throughout the school year but the Coach Cafe will be open whenever our Café volunteers opt to open it up. Coach Café dates and times will be posted on our region Facebook pages for our families to see and can also be added to our Parent Leader Calendar per region for users who do not have Facebook.

Access to the Coach Cafe can be found on our website, or you can go directly to the Coach Cafe by clicking HERE!
You may also register to get updates on dates and times the Cafe will be open by clicking HERE!

If you have at least 2+ years experience as a GCA Learning coach and would like to volunteer to help answer questions, please fill out the survey below.

Daily Juice

We would like our GCA students to exercise their journalistic talents! We are adding a page called The Daily Juice. This is a student web news page. We will be asking students from our schools to submit short articles weekly for the chance to be published in The Daily Juice on our website. We will have a web news committee read and select five student articles to publish in The Daily Juice each week. We cannot wait to see what our students come up with!

If you would like for your student to participate in this program, please fill out this survey.

Or for more information, email us at

Cookbook Committee

Do you or your student like to cook? The PTSO has just the thing for you. The PTSO has created a cookbook committee this year. This committee will be for GCA students and staff to share their recipes and help our school at the same time. To get involved with the creation of this wonderful cookbook, fill out the form below and we will take it from there. You will have the opportunity to have your students name and picture, if you choose, in the cookbook for your family and friends to see. The deadline to submit your recipe is October 15th. This will give our committee the time needed to have the cookbook ready for purchase in time for Christmas.

Click here to register your recipe, or for more information, email us at

Perks Program

Do you own your own business or know someone who does? Let the PTSO advertise for you. All you have to do is join our NEW Perks Program. For the PTSO advertising for you, all we ask in return is a discount to offer our PTSO Members. For more information, email the Perks Committee at or fill out the short survey with your information.
Click HERE to join the program.

Volunteer Committee

We are looking for volunteers to fill our committees for the 2015-2016 school year. The volunteer list was scrubbed clean at the end of the 2014-2015 school year; if you were a parent volunteer for the 2014-2015 school year, you will still need to fill out the survey for this year. We would like to get the committees filled so we will be able to have a few meetings and get training ready for the beginning of the upcoming school year. We want to hit the ground running! If you are interested, please fill out this survey and someone will be in touch with you.

Becoming a PTSO member is easy! Just fill out the short survey below and submit your payment (online) for $5! You will receive access to our Perks Program, have voting rights, and so much more.
For founding members, if you have not renewed your membership by September 1st, you will be removed as having founding member status.
