Library Basics
- Library Shelf Markers - keeping books in their place helps everyone find what they are looking for
- Whisper Zone - the library is also the office for Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Reardon, Mrs. Monroe and Mrs. Scheibel
- Caring For Our Books - use bookmarks to mark your place, give your book a hug, take care not to drop your book
CIRCULATION CHANGE
Goal: Allow students to always have one library book & maximize library time.
- First visit, all students check out 2 books.
- Students read one book and save the other.
- Teachers collect the first set of books for return on following Monday morning.
- Books will be collected from classrooms and returned to library for check-in.
- At this point, students still have one of the original two books.
- Students return to the library to check out a second book.
This system allows students to have a 2 book rotation and virtually eliminates the time that’s normally spent checking in books during library time.
Thank you, Mr. Bonaparte for brainstorming to make the experience better!
