Grade 2, Wednesday May 6
Life Cycles
Our BIG Question: How do living things grow and change?
Morning Message
Dear Wonder-ful Students,
It’s Wonder Wednesday! Today, listen to the story The Bad Seed. As you are listening to this story, we want you to wonder about the message the author is trying to send you. This is a book about a bad seed. How bad? Do you really want to know? He has a bad temper, bad manners, and a bad attitude. But what happens when one mischievous little seed changes his mind about himself, and decides that he wants to be—happy? Enjoy!
Science and English-Language Arts (ELA)
We are learning about life cycles all week! If you missed the Science videos and ELA directions on Monday, click on the button below to watch them. They are important and you should check them out at least once this week!
To begin, it's time to read for 20 minutes. You can read books on Myon (through classlink), at GetEpic.com, or with books you have at your house.
Next, it's time to write for 20 minutes, maybe on google slides or maybe on your own paper. Our theme this week is informational paragraphs, but you can also write poetry or add to your science journal!
If you are typing your work, remember to use the same slideshow you started on Monday. You should go to classlink or google to find it. If you have not started your slideshow yet, click on the button below.
Then, it's time to practice your reading fluency. Remember to read smoothly and with expression.
IT'S BRAIN BREAK TIME!!!

Note For Adults
In previous weeks your child was provided with addition and subtraction fact cards for practice.
To make addition and subtraction cards, print or write on index card sized pieces of paper.
Below you will see images that give possible addition and subtraction strategies children can use when practicing their facts.
Math - Practicing Your Facts
Then, join Mrs. Zink for a way to practice your cards!
