Christmas Around the World
Sunflower is looking for parent volunteers to run stations at our Christmas Around the World Celebration. Our stations will run Friday, December 18, 8:30-12:00ish.
You can help by choosing a country that you would like to teach students about and have a very short activity, snack, or craft for them to enjoy at your station. Or, if you are not comfortable coming up with an activity, let staff choose the country and prepare the activity for you to teach about at your station.
Please let us know by December 4 if you would like to help out.

PTO Spring Auction - Movie Night Basket Updated
We've had our first donation!!
I know it may seem far away, but PTO is starting to plan for their annual PTO Dinner and Auction. How this works: classes sign up for a basket theme, we ask for students to bring in donations, our baskets are auctioned off in a silent auction to help raise funds for our PTO. This is the major fundraiser that helps support our schools, without it, we wouldn't be able to attend field trips. PTO pays for busing and ticket amounts over the student contribution. They have also provided grants to teachers for items that directly benefit the students as well as technology items for both Cottonwood and Sunflower. Our class is teamed up with Mrs. Wolford's class and we are doing a Movie Night themed basket. This can include DVDs, popcorn, candy, etc for a movie night in, and we will collect gift cards/certificates to movie theaters for a movie night out. I'm happy to have our theme before Black Friday - there are usually great movie sales that weekend.
So far we have:

Frontrow is a K-8 online based math practice website/apps. We use frontrow in the classroom during our math groups. Students can login via the app or by going to www.student.frontrowed.com, type in their name, and enter our class code: iaqnaj This is differentiated and adjusts to the needs of the students. Students may work on this outside of school if they would like. This counts as extra work and they earn extra dojo points for any unassigned classwork they do outside of the classroom.
Click on this link and type in your child's login information - they should know, if not let me know and I will forward it to you- you will be able to see their progress on AR tests and how close they are to meeting their goal. Students have gotten off to a fabulous start and one student has already made his goal! Keep encouraging your students to read and take quizzes. Our first reward will be an afternoon trip to Wallace Park for some fun in the afternoon sun! Here is the link: https://hosted322.renlearn.com/197375/HomeConnect/Login.aspx
