Field-Trip Details for MONDAY

11th and 12th graders going on the trip(The ones who returned permission forms) will receive passes in 1st period. TEACHERS SHOULD GET PASSES FROM BOXES BEFORE FIRST PERIOD ON MONDAY. The students will report to the bus loading area when the bell rings to END first period.

Connections Notes for ALL Levels:

Progress reports will be going home soon. Remind students of the following:


  • They still have time to get grades up by report cards.
  • See teachers about extra help if they need it. ALL teachers have extra help time.
  • Check attendance on your progress report for accuracy. Note: You only have 5 absences in semester courses and 10 in year long courses. Parent notes count against your days.


PTA NEWS TO SHARE:


WHS teachers - I have put an envelope in teacher mailboxes with PTSA membership cards for students parents. Please distribute to corresponding student during your Wed. connection class. Thank you for your support of PTSA.

September 18- SIGNING DAY for 504s and ESOL plans in Mrs. Justice's Outer Office During Planning (Folders were prepared for you to complete at SLO training. Since the training is being rescheduled, it will be SUPER FAST. YAY!!)

September 18- College Fair Trip (List will be sent out of junior and senior participants)- Students receive passes in 1st period and head to the bus at the end of 1st period bell.

District News:

Removal of Personal Appliances in Buildings - Greenville County Schools’ Energy Management Policy states that certain energy-consuming items are not to be utilized in our facilities. Unfortunately, it has come to the attention of District Administration and the Energy Management Department that many of these non-compliant items are finding their way back into our buildings. This is a reminder that all personal appliances need to be removed from your building immediately.


Open Enrollment for Insurance Coverage (through October 31, 2017) – Open Enrollment will begin at locations throughout the district on 09/18/2017. Scheduling information for Open Enrollment meetings has been sent to each school/location. Due to Affordable Care Act compliance, all eligible employees, including new hires and working retirees, must attend a meeting with a Ward Services counselor to document the offer of health insurance coverage. To prepare for your individual meeting, click HERE for the Open Enrollment Highlights document. Ward Services has also prepared a video overview. SmartFind System - If you are having issues logging into the SmartFind System you need to “register” and reset your password. To register call 864-422-2300 (corrected phone number). When asked for your Access ID enter your GCS employee number and then the * key. Then enter your PIN # - your employee number and the * key. Record your name and hit * key. Enter 1 to accept or 2 to re-record name. System will state your location and job classification. ENTER A NEW SIX DIGIT PIN NUMBER AND HIT * KEY. Enter 1 to accept or 2 to enter a different PIN #. Hit 9 to exit the system. .
