A Message from Administration

Dear Enchanted Care Families,

Fall is in full swing and our students are enjoying the extra outdoor time, nature walks and seasonal curriculum activities. As a reminder, please make sure your child has a weather appropriate change of clothes in their cubby and outerwear when applicable. We are planning fun fall-themed activities for our students this month and are excited to share photos with you all through Links 2 Home.

Ages & Stages Questionnaire

Coming home soon will be copies of the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ). ASQ's are a developmental screening tool used in the early childhood field. Developmental screening is the practice of systematically looking for and monitoring signs that a young child may be delayed in one or more areas of development. Screening is not meant to establish a diagnosis for the child, but rather to help professionals determine whether more in-depth assessment is the next step.

The screeners contain a series of questions or checklists used to track children’s development relative to milestones achieved by a larger group of children of the same age. The questions will focus on both academic and social-emotional development. Developmental screening tools are carefully validated by research.

Enchanted Care uses a collaborative approach to ASQ's. Both parents and teachers take time to fill out the questions about each student. We then use both sets of assessments during conferences to develop next steps and create goals for each individual child.

Completed ASQ's can be turned in to your child's classroom teacher or brought in during your scheduled Parent-Teacher conference. Look for more information regarding conferences in the coming weeks.

COVID-19 Prevention Policies

With cases and illnesses on the rise again, we wanted to take a moment to remind you of our COVID-19 prevention policies. All adults and school-aged children are required to wear a mask or face covering. Masks are strongly recommended for children 3 and up. Hand sanitizer is located in the pumps above the number pad for your convenience. We will continue to screen all students for fevers at the front door. Any student with a fever of 100.4 or higher will be asked to stay home until fever free without the use of medication for 72 hours.

Out of an abundance of caution, we will be revising all Family Engagement events to either virtual or take-home events. Please see this month's calendar below for updates for October.

Wishing you well,

Ms. Heather, Ms. Kennedy & Ms. Jenna
