Message from Ms. Barkley, Coordinator of Early Learning
Over the last couple of weeks, the children have been learning about clothes. Particularly matching what should be worn based on the weather, the different types of clothes we wear, and how to put on clothing items especially during the winter season. These are great skills to continue instilling in your children at home to increase their independence. Watch the Dip n' Flip Jacket Song below to learn how to teach your child to put on their jacket.

With an eventual return to onsite learning coming to Antioch CCSD 34 we recognize that there will be a shortage of qualified substitutes across the state of Illinois and here specifically in Lake County. We are looking to expand our substitute pool for our eventual return to onsite learning this Winter. No previous teaching or student-teaching is required, although applicants with education degrees and/or instructional experience are preferred.
As a reminder when return we will be following all recommendations from the IDPH guidelines including 6 feet social distancing and the wearing of PPE for all staff/students.
Information from our Technology Department
Antioch CCSD 34 Alerting System - the District uses SwiftReach SwiftK12 through PowerSchool to send out alerts to our families, including emergencies, newsletters, general information, etc. As a user, you have the ability to customize your alerts by logging into your PowerSchool parent portal, click on SwiftReach SwiftK12, and click on Alert Preferences. You can also check your contact information for these alerts.
iPad Storage - as we continue to use the iPads as tools to support teaching and learning, it is important to manage the storage on the device. One easy way to create space is to delete out photos and videos that are not needed or unrelated to school. Please take a few minutes to complete this task -- if you need support, we have created a simple video with directions.
App Updates - Antioch CCSD 34 uses JAMF to manage our mobile devices. When an update for an app comes out, JAMF will download the new version and push it out to all devices. Devices NEED to be connected to Wi-Fi and plugged in to receive the new app. A good practice would be to plug in your device at night and keep it connected to Wi-Fi. If that is not possible, the device will download the new update the next time it connects to Wi-Fi.
