100 Day Review
It's always fun to celebrate 100 days! It's always a great reminder of expectations too
Today we kicked off the 101st day of school with an assembly. We talked about being part of a team- maybe not a 6 time Superbowl Championship team, but still a team that works hard together. We reviewed our expectations for student behavior in school, classes and recess with an emphasis on KINDNESS and treating everyone with respect.
We reminded students about uniform expectations as well. I'm attaching our Uniform Guidelines here for parents to also review and make sure that your child is coming to school in the correct uniform. Teachers will let you know if there are any discrepancies with your child's uniform. We also know that there are exceptions that occur occasionally and appreciate you letting us know ahead of time when your child may need a little flexibility.
Gym uniforms need to be consistent as well. Please remember that gym pants should be solid blue or the white striped Olympian pants- no brand name pants and no leggings. Students can wear any sneakers and socks to school on gym days only- but need to change into gym sneakers.
We've also adapted some of our routines at the end of the day with dismissal and cell phone collection for our middle school students. Hopefully this will help dismissal go smoothly and maximize our time at the end of each school day.
We appreciate your support as we refresh and remind our students of our expectations for the end of the school year.
FACTS Grant & Aid Applications now open
The Diocesan 2019-20 Grant and Aid Financial Aid application for students in grades K-8 is now open https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3H1T8
The deadline to apply for Grant & Aid is March 1st.
Your child will need to be re-registered for next year by March 1st in order for you to be eligible for Grant & Aid allocations if you qualify. This includes any students on a wait list.
If you know of any new families interested in St. Anna School and Grant & Aid, please let them know the deadline to file their application and that their child(ren) needs to be registered as a student by March 1st.
FACTS Grant & Application Information
Please reach out if you have any questions. I encourage you all to apply even if you're unsure if you will qualify. There are funds available each year and the list that is generated by the applications (even if you do not qualify) is used by the state to allocate our Title Funds which support our school.
Applications for the 2019-2020 School Year can be found on the school's website:
http://www.stannaschool.org/admissions.html
Returning students need to fill out a new form. We need a new form completed for each school year.
Outdoor Recess
It's also a good time to remind you that ALL students should also have an extra pair of gym sneakers AT school. Indoor recess is in the gym and only students with a pair of gym sneakers are allowed to use the gym. No school/outside shoes are allowed on the gym floor.
OUTDOOR SNOW FUN!!!
We want our students to get as much outdoor playtime as they can this winter. The fresh air and sunshine benefits everyone in the winter. Students in grades PK-3 are encouraged to bring their snow gear to school. Students who have boots, snow pants, and gloves will be allowed to play IN the snow at the lunch recess. This will also allow us to go outside when the weather is a little chillier if the students are dressed warm. Students are also able to leave a pair of boots and snow pants at school for the week if that’s easier than bringing them back and forth.
Older students will also be able to play IN the snow if they bring their boots, snow pants and gloves as well. For students who do not have the appropriate snow gear, they can continue to play on the pavement at recess. We do encourage a pair of boots or other shoes to change into outdoors. We also need to remind students they need a pair of gym shoes AT school. This is important for gym days as well as indoor recess days. We need to keep the sand, salt and snow off the gym floor. Students who do not have a change of footwear will not be able to participate in gym or indoor recess.

Nurse Notes:
We expect that students will attend school when they are fighting a cold. We will work with those students on using tissues, hand washing, sneezing or coughing into their elbow (Dabbing!) to help keep the germs at bay.
Our classrooms and hard services are cleaned appropriately to eliminate as many germs as possible while still keeping the good bacteria.
When in doubt, please just ask! We are here to help.
A word from the School Board:
The St. Anna Catholic School Advisory Board has decided to once again offer all school families two complimentary tickets to this year’s gala! The gala will be on May 4th at Wachusett Country Club. More details in the invitations coming soon!
