Also, new books and trackers were started on October 1.

Science: Mr. Geringer & Mrs. Oliver
Students took their summative assessment for Space Systems learning goals 1-4 on Tuesday and had an opportunity to finish Wednesday if they needed extra time. The assessments will be scored soon and students will have the option to reassess learning goals they feel that they performed poorly on. Reassessment guidelines will be posted after scores are returned to students.
At the end of the week we began looking at the causes of eclipses and reflecting on the solar eclipse many students experienced two years ago.
Social Studies: Mrs. Goosen & Mr. Landolt
Social Studies finished the Geography portion of our Civilization Project this week. In doing this project, we discussed how various aspects of Geography can have an effect on life within a civilization.
At the end of the week, students got started on their Geography Choice Project. They are choosing an ancient civilization that interests them, and researching how that civilization was affected by their geography. This project culminates with a presentation over what they have learned.
