Hurricane Katrina

It was a category one when it had its first land fall over Florida, and then in the Gulf of Mexico it peaked at a category five, then at New Orleans it hit a catagorey three with winds up to 130 mph. It lasted most of the day, causing over 100 billion dollars worth of damage. When hurricane Katrina hit it is estimated that nearly 7 million gallons of oil were real eased into the ocean, harming many natural habitats for fish.
