August Vikings of the Month who showed RESPECT.
- Harmony Parrish was nominated by Ms. Kate for using the BRV Lifeline of Respect. Harmony showed respect to her teachers when asked to complete a task and followed directions very well during activities. She has demonstrated respect for her classmates during free play and group activities by sharing, taking turns, and playing well with others. She also showed respect for her classroom when it was time to clean-up and followed school rules and expectations extremely well. Harmony has had a wonderful start to this new school year and has demonstrated what it means to be proud to be a Viking!
- Cassie Canary was nominated by Mrs. Walradth for using the BRV Lifeline of Respect during the month of August. Cassie has excellent manners and is always kind to her classmates. She raises her hand before speaking and always includes other children to ensure that they are not left out. She does a wonderful job of making others feel good about themselves.
- Hunter Spurlock was nominated by Mrs. McDonald & Mrs. Sharrett. Hunter is new to BRV! He has shown respect by always saying please and thank you and helps other students in the classroom be their best! He is very kind to everyone and shows respect to teachers by being a good listener and following directions.
- Katie Turner was nominated by Mrs. Hook & Miss Ison for using the BRV Lifeline of Respect. Katie can always be caught using her manners. She is willing to help a friend anytime they need a little extra work. Katie is very polite when speaking to her teachers and classmates.
- Caylyn Williamson was nominated by Mrs. Raines for using the BRV Lifeline of Respect. Caylyn is respectful to everyone she interacts with. She is willing to help in the classroom wherever needed. She uses her manners, and sets a wonderful example by following expectations.
- Zeke Perdue was nominated by Miss Burks and Miss Evans for using the BRV Lifeline of Respect. Zeke always listens to his teachers and his classmates. He does a great job of following directions and using manners. He is accepting of others and is kind to everyone.
- Brody Clayborn was nominated by Mrs. Stultz and Mrs. Vannatta for using the BRV Lifeline of Respect. Brody goes out of his way to show respect to our classrooms by sweeping up messes, wiping off desks, and picking up pencils. Brody also shows respect to his teachers by using his manners. He is a great role model of a respectful student.
- Preston West was nominated by Mrs. Creviston & Mrs. Rosenbam. Preston consistently shows respect to adults and other children. In doing so, he is considerate of their feelings and opinions. Preston listens to others, and apologizes when he is wrong. He is a true role model for his peers.
- Robert Martin was nominated by Mrs. Allen for using the BRV Lifeline of Respect. Robert pays attention to lessons being taught by the teacher. He uses respectful language such as please and thank you. He is helpful to the teacher by getting things set up for group work. He is a pleasure to have in class.
- Jessi Hagerman was nominated by Mrs. Cross for using the BRV Lifeline of Respect. Jessi is a great listener. She listens not only to the teacher but her classmates as well during discussion. She holds the Arts in high regard and finds value in them. She encourages her peers to do their best, while pushing herself to do her best as well. She is a very involved student and makes the art room an enjoyable place. Jessi is a model student in the way she is respectful in the art room.
- Henry Schmidt was nominated by Mrs. Jenkins for using the BRV Lifeline of Respect. Henry works hard in Coding. He listens and follows directions. He shows excitement in his projects and assignments. Henry is always willing to help his classmates, which is a great life skill to have. Keep working hard Henry!
Robotics and Junior Vikings Basketball will start the week of October 17th.

Washington D.C., Gettysburg, and Mt. Vernon Last Week
We had gorgeous weather for the 5th-8th grade trip to Washington D.C., Gettysburg, and Mt. Vernon. It was a wonderful learning opportunity for our students and everyone represented Blue River Valley Schools well.
Current 3rd and 4th graders, you will be the next group of students to go to Washington D.C. in the Fall of 2024!

Thank you for your participation in our only school-wide fundraiser last month!
We use the money raised to provide various events for our students such as field trips, field days, Rockstar Day, and others. The students who sold 3 boxes of chocolate were able to participate in a money grab from the money box!
