A message from the principal
An email update from Irondale High School
May 27, 2022
Hello Irondale community,
After 36 years in education, it is time for me to slow down. After much deliberation, I have decided to retire effective January 1, 2023. My last day as the principal of Irondale High school will be June 30. I’m making this announcement now because it will allow for a leadership transition to take place for a new principal to be named to start July 1.
It has been my honor to serve as principal at Irondale for the past two very demanding pandemic years. Your dedication to our students, tenacity and grace during these challenging and unprecedented times has been commendable.
This fall I will work at the District on special projects as well as serve as a principal mentor until January 1. I may teach a college class or two or lean on my counseling background to help others.
Thank you all for your trust and support as we navigated these past two years together. Irondale is a great school because of the teachers, support staff, parents and students who are the proud Irondale Knights. I look forward to finishing the school year with you in a positive and productive manner.
Sincerely,
Carol Kampa
Principal
