Mark your calendars for May 24th. This year, USD is combining Open House and STEAM Night into an evening of learning.

The classrooms will be open from 6:00 to 6:45 and the focus will be on teachers and families celebrating this year's students. As much as we start thinking about the next school year in May ... teachers will not be able to meet or chat with future students/parents during Open House. Teachers will be using this time to focus on their current students. Thank you for your understanding.

As our classrooms close at 6:45, a variety of STEAM activities will be available around the campus for an hour. You will find many exciting learning opportunities on the primary playground and in the MakerSpace. Volunteers are needed to help make STEAM Night a success. If you are interested in helping, information can be found on Parent Square.

Welcome to the 11th Multicultural Night event at Alta Vista on Friday, May 19th from 5pm-7pm.

Each year, Alta vista families come together to proudly share their cultures and traditions with all of us. This event is a great way for children and adults to learn about different countries, traditions, cultures, attire, food, and much more. This year, we are proud to have 20+ countries participating in the event. Come with your family and friends to enjoy an evening of fun and world unity!!!

Come to the Art Show and enjoy some of your child’s Art Vistas projects. Every student who participated in the Art Vistas program this year will have some of their art work on exhibit! Every grade K-5 will be represented. We’ll provide chalk to do outdoor drawings that tie into our Multicultural event. Your child can draw a flag or symbol reflecting one of the many countries that will be represented!

If you cannot make it later in the evening, the art show will also be open for one hour after school on Friday, 5/19 as well.

The Leigh Stampede 5K Run/Walk is on Saturday, May 20th, at 9am. The Stampede’s flat and USATF-certified course starts at Leigh High School, winds through our surrounding Cambrian neighborhoods, and ends in the school quad. Whether you are a walker, casual jogger, or distance runner, come join us for this wonderful community celebration! This is a fun and family friendly event. There will be music, shaved ice, snacks, medals & T-shirts for every participant, and more! Special family pricing available.
