Dear Quetzal Families,


We have felt the love and appreciation this week from our students, parents, and PTA! Thank you for all you do for our staff. We are very fortunate to be part of this amazing community.


This afternoon, we will reclassify 17 of our English learners. We are very excited and happy for their accomplishments! Congratulations to Alison, Arlo, Miguel, Michael, Yahir, Stacey, Yarely, Erick, Sofia, Alexandra, Emily, David, Juan, Jaqueline, Edwin, Juan Diego, and Jonathan. We are looking forward to seeing parents tomorrow at our celebration breakfast!


Please join us at our last ELAC meeting of the year next Monday, May 15, at 5pm. We will have a presentation from Parents Helping Parents, and we will elect next year's ELAC members. Don't forget to vote!


Our end of the year music concerts are coming up. We want to take this time to thank MVEF providing this amazing opportunity for our students. We are looking forward to seeing you there. Please sign in the office and walk to our MUR. This is the schedule for each grade level concerts:


  • 5/18 at 8:20am - 5th grade
  • 5/24 at 8:20am - Kinder
  • 5/24 at 10:45am - Second
  • 5/24 at 1:15pm - 4th Grade
  • 5/25 at 8:20am - 1st Grade
  • 5/25 at 10:45am - 3rd Grade


We are finishing up our CAASPP testing. Our last makeups will take place tomorrow. Thank you, parents for bringing your child to school on time. Next week, we will have our iReady assessments Kindergarten through 5th grade. Students will do their math iReady on Tuesday, May 16, and reading on May 18. Please make sure students are at school on time and have eaten a well balanced breakfast. We appreciate your support with this at home.


Library books must be turned in by May 19. Remind your child to check at home and bring them to Mrs. Love by the end of next week.

Senior Citizens/SSI Recipients: Apply Now For Tax Exemption!

The View Teen Center: May Events

The View Teen Center is a free facility in Mountain View (263 Escuela Ave) for all Mountain View and Los Altos 6th - 12th grade students. The center is open Monday through Friday: 3:30 - 7 p.m. and Saturday: 1 - 6 p.m, and features a game room, makerspace, kitchen, computer/study room, outdoor area, and much more! The View Teen Center - 5th Grade Open House

The View Teen Center is the place to be if you're in 6th - 12th grade! Incoming 6th graders can visit the Teen Center starting June 5, 2023. Current 5th graders and their families can stop by The View from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 12 for an Open House. No registration is required, just drop by!


At the Open House, 5th graders and their families can explore The View, participate in games and crafts, get a FREE membership and gift, meet the staff, preview summer programs, enjoy ice cream and more.

City of Mountain View: KidStock

The City of Mountain View will be hosting KidStock, a kid-centric festival featuring live children's music from popular Bay Area performers, plus games, arts and crafts, and more! All events are from 10 a.m. to noon and take place on the Civic Center Plaza. Schedule is below.
