Greene School Lost and Found
This Week's Lost and Found Items
Is your child missing a hat, glove, water bottle, book, sweatshirt, etc...? Please view our Greene School Lost and Found slideshow. This is updated weekly in hopes that lost items find their homes!
After School Activities
Student Dismissal
A number of after school activities occur on the same day and time after for students. Unfortunately, at times, this leads to the overflow of traffic onto Kenwood Road if the student pickup protocol is not followed. While it is outstanding that we have so many students participating in Greene extracurricular programs, please remember tp arrive at the indicated end time of your child's activity. If arriving early, or your child is not present for pickup, please use the available parking spaces. Families can meet their child at the front entrance upon dismissal. This dismissal procedure is designed to maintain traffic flow and support the efficiency of students being dismissed.
Winter Conferences
February 15th
Winter in-person conferences will be held on Thursday, February 15th from 4:00-7:30 and are scheduled based on teacher/team request. If your child's teacher/team determines a need for a conference, they will be in communication directly with families to secure a time. If you do not receive communication from your child's teacher, it has been determined that there is not a need for a winter conference. As always, feel free to reach out to your child's team at any time if you have any questions or concerns or if you believe there is a specific need for a conference.
6th to 7th Grade Transition Information
Attention All 6th Grade Families
As we are beginning the second semester, please be on the lookout for emails from Sycamore Junior High regarding your student's transition to 7th grade. Upcoming events, timelines, scheduling, and more will be communicated to families via email. Do not hesitate to reach out to EH Greene or Sycamore Junior High with questions.
Junior High Choir Auditions
The Sycamore Junior High choirs are looking to add many amazing 6th graders to their choirs next year. Students do not have to be in choir this year to participate in choir at the Junior High. Deborah Stein, SJH choir director, will be visiting our 6th grade choirs and General Music classes in the next couple of weeks to provide more information and audition the students. Interested 6th grade students who are NOT in general music/choir this year should audition on Thursday, February 1st from 2:50-3:15 in the choir room at EH Greene. This is a stress free audition with no singing experience required. Students should have transportation to pick them up at 3:15. You may email Mrs. Stein (steind@sycamoreschools.org) if you have any additional questions. Watch THIS VIDEO to see some of the fun things your kids can look forward to in JH choir.

Attention: Parents of 6th Grade Students
Two immunizations are required by the state of Ohio (ORC 3313.67) before the start of 7th grade. Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis booster) and Meningitis (MCV4). Your child may already have had them at their 11 year old check up. If so please obtain a copy of those immunizations. If not, please make an appointment for your students to get these two immunizations. Once you have obtained copies of TDAP and MCV4, send them to Laurie Dobrowolski RN at E.H. Greene Intermediate School.
Thank you!

Important News for EHG Parents
Free Feminine Hygiene Products
Ohio has recently enacted a program to place free feminine hygiene products in all schools that serve students in grades 6-12. The information below outlines the requirements put into effect from the State of Ohio:
To increase student wellness and address barriers that prevent students from engaging in learning, schools and districts are now required to provide feminine hygiene (menstrual) products for students in grades six through twelve. In the 2022-23 school year, there were over 476,000 female students in grades six through twelve that this new requirement will impact.
Effective Oct. 3, 2023, Ohio Law requires each traditional public school district, community school, STEM school, chartered nonpublic school and other public school with school buildings that enroll girls in grades six through twelve to provide free menstrual products. Schools may choose to provide free products to a broader range of grade levels. By providing access to free menstrual products, schools eliminate a barrier to regular attendance and promote healthy habits.
Over Winter Break, Greene custodial staff installed dispensers in all girls’ restrooms that will supply feminine napkins only. In consultation with Nurse Dobrobowlski, the following message will be displayed on all dispensers:
These products are free to all EHG girls. Please only take what you need so there is enough for everyone.
If you need to change your pad, please take the old pad, wrap it in toilet paper and throw it away in the dispenser. Please do not try to flush old pads down the toilet.
If you get your period for the first time and want to call home to talk to a parent, please let your teacher or Nurse D know. If you bleed through your clothes, please see Nurse D. for new underwear. She can also talk to you if you are worried or scared about having your period. If the dispenser is empty, please tell your teacher or Mrs. Thomas in the office and they will let the custodians know it needs to be refilled.
Thank you for talking with your child about this dispenser. If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Ann Marie Reinke at reinkea@sycamoreschools.org.
