Welcome
This Week in Kindergarten
We will be doing a few cool projects this week - baby Jesus in the manger and the traveling wise men will be our inspiration. Make sure you pop down to see them towards the end of the week. The students will get to take them home those few days before our Christmas break. Also, look for some festive work to be coming home this week as well! We are also completing our gifts for families this week...they are wrapped in a red and green painted bag, so when you see them make their way home, please remind your child to put it under your Christmas tree, or wherever you keep your family gifts until it is time to exchange! Enjoy! :)
This week in math we will be comparing numbers, weighing objects, counting on from a given number, identifying numbers 0-20, and using the math language "before", "between", and "after".
In reading we will wrap up learning about Frits and the letter Ff. On Wednesday we will be introduced to one of our last few Superkids! After we learn about the last two Superkids, in mid-January we will start the next portion of the curriculum, titled, "The Superkids Club". We will go on more adventures with the Superkids and learn the rest of the letters of the alphabet. We are also working hard on blending sounds more smoothly, so our reading becomes more fluent. Reading fluency = comprehension (meaning and understanding when reading), which is what we strive for when learning to read.
