Have you ever thought about becoming a substitute teacher?

With an eventual return to onsite learning coming to Antioch CCSD 34 we recognize that there will be a shortage of qualified substitutes across the state of Illinois and here specifically in Lake County. We are looking to expand our substitute pool for our eventual return to onsite learning this Winter. Please go to this link for more information about how to apply:

As a reminder, the qualifications to be a substitute in the state of Illinois are:

PBIS Rewards

Our students have been using our new PBIS Rewards app for a couple weeks now. Students are awarded paws (points) for displaying expected behavior in class. Last Friday the students were able to use their paws to shop in our school store and many students have also shopped in their teachers' stores. Their purchases will be provided along with their materials on materials pick-up day. Another component to the PBIS Rewards app is the parent portal. All parents will be able to connect to their child's account to see what paws they have been awarded and by which teacher. Please CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO to see what this app is all about. You will receive an emailed letter at the end of next week that will include the information you will need to connect to your child's account. Please note* Our district is not currently using the referral portion of this program.

From the Technology Department

  • Antioch CCSD 34 Alerting System - the District uses SwiftReach SwiftK12 through PowerSchool to send out alerts to our families, including emergencies, newsletters, general information, etc. As a user, you have the ability to customize your alerts by logging into your PowerSchool parent portal, click on SwiftReach SwiftK12, and click on Alert Preferences. You can also check your contact information for these alerts.

  • iPad Storage - as we continue to use the iPads as tools to support teaching and learning, it is important to manage the storage on the device. One easy way to create space is to delete out photos and videos that are not needed or unrelated to school. Please take a few minutes to complete this task -- if you need support, we have created a simple video with directions.

  • App Updates - Antioch CCSD 34 uses JAMF to manage our mobile devices. When an update for an app comes out, JAMF will download the new version and push it out to all devices. Devices NEED to be connected to Wi-Fi and plugged in to receive the new app. A good practice would be to plug in your device at night and keep it connected to Wi-Fi. If that is not possible, the device will download the new update the next time it connects to Wi-Fi.

Return to In-Person Learning Status

The adaptive pause will continue until at least January 4, 2021. As we get closer to January 4, 2021, the district continues to monitor data, explore best-practice, seek the advice of experts, and make the best and right decisions for us.

Our team is finalizing our Logistics and Operations Plan, inclusive of our hybrid learning model and schedule. We aim to be prepared for a return to in-person learning as soon as the data and Lake County Health Department indicate that it is safe and feasible to do so.

Do you know a child who would benefit by receiving a holiday gift or are you interested in donating a gift? Please fill out this form if either scenario applies to you. Click here for the form.
