Casimir Pulaski Day

This Monday we honored Casimir Pulaski Day. We wanted to share some information about Kazimierz (Casimir) Pulaski. Casimir Pulaski (Kazimierz Pułaski) is known for his contributions to American independence. He was known as the “Father of American Cavalry”. Kazimierz Pułaski was born near Warsaw, Poland on March 6, 1745. While in France, he met Benjamin Franklin who knew of Pulaski's military talents and convinced Pulaski to cross the Atlantic Ocean and join George Washington's army in the Revolutionary War. Pulaski fought and died for the cause of American freedom, which is why he is remembered today and known as a hero of two nations. Happy Pulaski Day!

Spirit weeks help to bring school communities together, to encourage a positive school culture and to foster unity among staff and students.
