Murphy Middle School ENews
For the week of April 6 - April 10, 2020
Schools and District Offices Are to Remain Closed to the Public Through May 1st
From the Principal
Good Afternoon Maverick Family,
I hope that each of you are doing well. Our teachers and staff truly miss seeing our students each and every day. We remain committed to our students and families at this time in supporting our children's educational needs. We appreciate your partnership and support throughout this process. As we finish our 2nd week of Online Instruction and prepare to transition to Phase 3 of our Remote Learning Plan, I have some important announcements:
Phase 3 of Remote Learning:
As you have already seen in district communication, next week our teachers will transition to Phase 3 of our Remote Learning Plan. (If you missed that message, you can read it here: https://www.pisd.edu/covid-19updates) The biggest part of the transition will be the introduction of a new learning platform called Edgenuity. Edgenuity is an online curriculum that our teachers will utilize to assist in providing instruction and activities. Teachers will be sending out information to students through Google Classroom on Monday with directions on where to access Edgenuity and next steps for students to take to familiarize themselves with the Edgenuity platform. Our teachers will continue to post their weekly assignments and instructions on Google Classroom and they will also use Google Classroom to provide support, answer questions, and post important announcements. Our teachers have been working hard this week to familiarize themselves with Edgenuity so next week will be a learning opportunity for students and staff alike.
Chromebook Issues or Help:
If you have a non-working/broken Chromebook or if you missed the timeframe for picking up a device at Murphy, the Plano ISD Help Desk is available to assist you in obtaining a working Chromebook. Please contact the Help Desk Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at (469) 752-8767, or email tsos@pisd.edu. The Help Desk will work with us to coordinate the repair, pickup or delivery of your student's device.
