The B.Y.E. Buzz

Principal Corner

As you have seen the number of Covid cases has risen in our community. At Young Elementary, we have done very well at keeping all cases contained. We have had 10 Covid cases in the last 15 weeks and zero spread inside the school. That is .01% of our students and staff with a positive covid case.

Safety will remain our priority this school year. We will continue our Covid 19 safety procedures at Young Elementary. With things changing rapidly we want to be fully transparent. Students will bring devices and chargers home over the break. This does NOT mean we are going remote and nothing has been made official. This is just to err on the side of caution in the event we need to pivot to remote learning after Thanksgiving break. We will follow all guidance from the district as we move forward.

Devices are used for school purposes only. Students may use their device for the remote learning project and/or Lexia and ST Math. When not using the device for schoolwork, students need to store them in a safe place and be prepared to bring them back when students return.
