Delta Zeta
Twin Cities Alumnae Bi-Monthly Mini - August 2013
President's Letter
Greetings!
I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all who volunteered at the recent Starkey Gala. We had 20 volunteers who assisted with the Silent Auction, Hearing Angels, and much more. Please join me in recognizing Holly Thompson who serves as our coordinator of Delta Zeta’s volunteer efforts with the Starkey Gala.
Fall will soon be upon us so I hope you will reflect back on your education, the great
experiences which were a result of your education, and take a minute to purchase school supplies for our upcoming supply drive for Crest View Elementary. Crest View Elementary is located in Brooklyn Park and currently has approximately 75-percent of their population receiving free or reduced meals so they can certainly use our help! We will hope you will join us on September 12 for a pizza party at the school.
During the upcoming season of recruitment, please join me in wishing our collegiate chapters’ great success as they share our sisterhood with other women on college campuses across the region. On behalf of the Twin Cities Alumnae Chapter, roses will be sent to the following nearby chapters for Preference Night: Minnesota State University Moorhead (Theta Nu), St. Cloud State University (Theta Mu), and University of Wisconsin – Stout (Zeta Beta).
I hope you will join us at the Founder’s Day Brunch on Saturday, October 26. It will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our sisterhood through delightful conversation, wonderful food, recognition of membership anniversaries, and a raffle to support the Gamma Scholarship. Please see the details in this edition of the newsletter.

Pizza Party! Thursday, September 12, 6:00 p.m.
Join us for a school supply drive to support Holly Thompson’s Crest View Elementary School in her remodeled library. The school has about 450 students and many of these kids do not have the supplies they need to be successful in school. Even if they start out with the right tools, supplies often get lost, stolen and just worn out. The supply list for Crest View Elementary is linked below, but anything you can donate would be much appreciated. Holly actually wrote a grant to get iPads in classrooms so donations of earbuds would be greatly appreciated! Just please make sure all supplies you donate are NEW.

When you drop off your school supplies, stay a while and socialize! Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.
Let’s make this a huge success for the kids!
