ARSA Instructional Highlights
Elective Instructional Highlight - Mr. Gerrity
Mr. Gerrity is challenging his students to do in the spot translations. Students were translating simple sentences with a partner check. Way to go Mr. Gerrity helping our students to become bilingual and trilingual.
Elective Instructional Highlight - Ms. Pearson
I want to spotlight Ms. Pearson and our AIMS students! Three of them took their final test today to gain their first .5 credit! They received an ice cream social to celebrate their strides.
- Send text and picture to Mrs. Taylor-Glenn via email.
- Subject line must include Spotlight.
- Due by every Friday, 5pm.
Spotlight 8th Grade Social Studies Team - Team
I want to highlight 8th grade US history team. Getz, Gardner and Stephens. They were a tremendous help in administering the PSAT. They did all of the pre-bubbling on the answer documents, which allowed us to finish in plenty of time for lunch. Not only do I appreciate their help, but their attitude is always A number one! Thanks so much guys.
Spotlight on Ms. Tovar & Ms. Madrigal - Team
Thank you to Ms. Tovar who was in the Staff Lounge early working on the pizzas for the 100% Staff perfect attendance lunch. Much appreciation to both ARSA Rangers for exemplifying Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
Spotlight on Ms. A. Lewis - Team.Lead.Achieve
Ms. A. Lewis jumped in and provided lessons, materials, and taught our Rangers when we lost a teacher and sub could not be here. Thank you Ms. Lewis for your, whatever it takes attitude and always with such incredible, infections, positivity.
Spotlight on Science Team - Lead. Learn. Achieve
Mrs. Hawkins writes:
I would like to spotlight the entire Science Team
The Science Team has done an outstanding job of embracing new and engaging strategies that challenge their students to be more hands-on in their learning. Mrs. Burks and Mr. Kattan specifically, have shared their learning from the SMU STEM Cohort with their team members, creating fresh and innovative investigations for all our Rangers. Ms. Burns has eagerly accepted the challenge of teaching not one, but two new contents, with great success!!!
Our ARSA Science Team is working diligently to move all our Rangers into the World of STEAM and Social Emotional Learning. It is a JOY to work alongside such an amazing group of educators!!!
Spotlight on Mr. Babeu - Lead. Achieve - 7th Grade RLA
Mr. Babeu exemplifies the traits of a true legendary teacher! He works hours to make sure his questions in his lesson are rigorous and aligned. He makes his class engaging with innovative projects and great novel reads. His students are always exploring new ideas and having deep discussions that are molding them into responsible, respectful young adults.
He builds great relationships with each of his students. He works tirelessly afterschool engaging students in Anime Club, Japanese Club, and reading tutoring. His actions are making students love school! Thanks for being an outstanding teacher Mr. Babeu. K-Takats (Hice)
Spotlight on Ms. Parambath - Lead. Achieve - 7th Grade RLA
I visited Ms. Parambath's classroom this week, and her lesson was outstanding. Her clear delivery helped students truly grasp the objective. She thinks of great activities to get her students engaged in content. I can't wait to use many of her activities in my own classroom. Her innovative mind is like no other! Blessed to have her as a teammate. K. Takats (Hice)
Spotlight on Ms. Leake - Lead
I wanted to spotlight Ms. Leake for her awesome student work displays! Ms Leake consistently displays current student work on the lockers and walls of the hallways. All of her student work is of the highest quality and it is so great to see students stop to read their peers work or to claim their own work in front of their peers and teachers.
I love getting to read and look over the projects during my duty in the hallway and to get to know students from a different perspective than what I see in my classroom.
