Life After Stroke
Consumer Consultation Forum - Identification of Needs
The Life After Stroke Program
The Life After Stroke Program aims to provide opportunities for people following a stroke to engage in meaningful community based activity (vocational or lifestyle). The program involves one-on-one advocacy and mentoring involving various agencies and volunteer support by Rotary and the Stroke Association of Victoria, thereby avoiding or diminishing incidence of frustration and/or depression amongst stroke survivors and their carers.
The program is currently in the pilot phase, involving relevant organisations within the city of Booroondara.
This forum is in the form of a brainstorm of experiences and ideas involving stroke survivors, carers and professional clinical and vocational stakeholders to identify the range of needs that exist and options for attending them. The outcomes will act as a guide to our project officer who will collate them.
