Twenty-Five Reasons to Be Proud of Our School

According to Todd Whitaker, It's easy to get bogged down with all that is negative? We've been trained to identify problems, and that skill can be a valuable asset. Believe it or not it is typically far easier to list a student's and/or school weaknesses that it is to list their strengths. And sometimes it's easier for an administrator to list all that is wrong with the school than it is to list all that is right. Today, we will list all that is right with Adrian High School and/or Adrian Public Schools through the lens of the IB LPT: Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced and Reflective. Take a moment to reflect on one or more IB LPT and write one or more reasons why you're proud of our school and/or district.

Here are some reasons why we're proud of our school and/or district through the lens of the IB LPT:

  1. We work hard to accommodate and celebrate the diverse needs of our students (principled).
  2. The breath and depth of curricular and extra-curricular course offerings for students (balanced).
  3. Our staff cares for one another and our kids care for each other (caring).
  4. We have high expectations for our kids and kids are expected to work hard (inquirers).
  5. Our kids are caring because they turn in lost money and cell phones and state they want other kids to do the same for them if they lost an item (caring).
  6. We have a caring staff that is concerned about the well-being of our students (caring).
  7. Our colleagues demonstrate pride in our school and district #GoMaples.
