Important Topics and Reminders

Arrival Procedure

Thank you for a smooth start to the school year. Here are a few reminders to maintain student safety.

  • School supervision starts at 7:45am. Please do not drop off students before that time as there is no staff to supervise them.
  • If you are in the car loop, please make sure to pull all the way up to close any gaps between cars. This will expedite the drop off process and reduce the number of cars waiting to come into the Medina School lot. Students will meet you further up the loop once you stop.
  • Starting Wednesday 9/7, there will be kindergarteners and their families joining us. That means the arrival area will be busier and a few more younger kids out and about. Please carpool if you can and drive slowly through the neighborhoods and Medina parking lots.
  • To support student safety and independence, we ask that families say their good byes to students at the entrance of the school and refrain from coming into the building, unless there is a pre-arranged appointment with a staff member. Please see below for procedures for all visitors and volunteers.
  • Before 8:05am, please remind students to go to their designated entrance areas (2nd and 5th grade at the undercover recess area, K and 1st by their exterior classroom door, and 3rd and 4th graders by the 4th grade wing exterior stairs).
  • After 8:05am, all students should go through the main front entrance.

Volunteers and Visitors

We are grateful for the many ways that the families and community continue to support our staff and students. One key way families support us is by volunteering in the school and classroom. During the first few weeks, our teachers and students take this time to learn systems, settle into school routines, and build a class community. If your child's teacher is seeking volunteers, they will reach out to you when they are ready for the extra help in the classroom. All visitors and volunteers must be pre-arranged and confirmed with the teacher before arriving to the school.

  • Please note that all employees, volunteers, and indoor contractors in educational settings are required to be fully vaccinated or have a medical or religious exemption per Governor’s proclamation 21-14.3. : Visit HERE for info.
  • All Volunteers need to sign in with Lobby Guard at the Main Office.
