Welcome to Week 14!
Greetings Wilder Family,
Happy Hanukkah! I hope that those of you who celebrate this holiday enjoyed a wonderful week of festivities! With Christmas and Kwanzaa quickly approaching, we are in full swing of December cheer. I want to say thank you to those of you who partnered with the PTSA to provide a delicious staff luncheon tomorrow. This will certainly make our season bright!
Thank you for taking the time to read this week's newsletter. I hope that everyone has a great week ahead!
Thank YOU,
Mrs. Broudy

ATTENTION: SAFETY ALERT
This is a reminder that students are not allowed to bring unauthorized medication to school for any reason. Parents are asked to register all medications with the school nurse. Additionally, please speak with your child about the dangers of taking over the counter and prescription medication without permission. Encourage your student to report any students who consume or attempt to distribute medications at school. Please contact me directly if your child shares any information about over the counter or prescription medication use at school.

Fall Test Scores
Virginia Growth Assessment Scores
In the beginning of October, your student(s) took a math and/or reading growth assessment created by the state. This assessment is allowing the teachers at Wilder to better support your student’s learning needs. With this assessment, the state has also created a new web-based portal where you can see your student’s scores. The letter here gives directions on how to set up your portal account and see your student’s scores. Any questions can be directed to our school’s test coordinator, Shannon Teigen, at sateigen@henrico.k12.va.us.

Attendance
It is important that students attend school each day and arrive on time to ensure they are receiving all of their instruction. Please see below for important information regarding attendance.
· School starts at 8:05 each day. Students are considered tardy if they arrive at 8:30 or later.
· Notify the school by calling the front office at (804) 515-1100 if your child will be absent from school. If we are not notified of an absence, your child will be marked absent unexcused automatically.
· Our attendance team regularly monitors student attendance. Families of students with five or more unexcused absences will be required to meet to develop a support plan for attendance.
· If there is anything we can do to support your efforts in making sure your child is at school every day, please reach out to your child’s school counselor or our Family Advocate, Mrs. Clarke!
