Tumuaki Korero

Tēnā koutou,

Week 3 already! The mornings are certainly cooler and the autumn colours are spectacular. With the wet weather, the children can get a bit muddy or sandy (with our gorgeous new golden sand!) so it would be helpful if you could send a change of clothes, just in case.

Please be aware we are noticing a resurgence of COVID-19 in the community with children and staff self-isolating with positive cases. We are working very hard to cover any staffing absences with limited reliever availability across Marlborough. We are doing all we can to keep classes operating. If staffing levels are unsafe, we will move to home learning. While this is the last resort, it is something that may happen in the coming weeks.

Please as always, if you or your child are unwell, stay home, get tested, follow the current MoH advice and let the school know. We have RAT tests available here at school if families require them.

Unfortunately, as a result of staff absences duetoillness, we have had to postpone our trip to Rarangi this Friday. We will advise of the new date as soon as we can.

Just a reminder that on Mondays after school, SCS children can attend Taekwondo with Aaron at the Spring Creek Community Hall. It is free for our children and their siblings. Taekwondo supports with organization, vision, body development, and mental awareness. The goal of this martial art is to give a sense of self-esteem and heightened mental and physical well being. These assets attribute to a common goal of harmony.

Have a fantastic week everyone.

Taekwon-Do

Legion Taekwon-Do is a dynamic martial art, and it is also an exciting sport suitable for all ages and abilities. Classes are for everyone from beginners to advanced levels.

Focused mind, disciplined body and pure spirit through community participation is our motto. Keeping this in mind, we encourage individual growth through a family feel atmosphere whilst practicing Taekwon-Do techniques.

Fees will be free to any Spring Creek School students and to the Spring Creek community. Classes will be Monday 3:15 - 4:15 pm in the Spring Creek Hall from this term. Families need to arrange for their children to go to the hall after school.
