I'm so excited to be named Interim Principal of John L. Ory Magnet. I look forward to continuing to work with you and your scholars to finish this school year strong. We're counting down the days to LEAP 2025. Please visit John L. Ory School's website for tips to help your scholar get ready.

REMINDERS

Dress Code Reminders:

  • All K-8th scholars must wear their school uniform Monday-Friday.
  • Scholars may wear a spirit shirt with their uniform bottoms on Friday.
  • All K-8th grade scholars must wear a belt if their pants have belt loops.
  • Baggy, sagging, or oversized clothing is prohibited.
  • Hoodies or jackets with a hood are prohibited.
  • Clothes must be worn as they are intended.
  • Scholars may not drape sweatshirts or jackets around their waist.


Cell phone policy:

  • Cell phones are not allowed at school.
1st Offense:
  • Cell phone will be confiscated, scholar will receive a detention, and a CAM point will be deducted. Parents will have to come to the office to pick up the phone from an administrator after dismissal (4:10-4:30)
2nd Offense:
  • Cell phone will be confiscated, scholar will receive a detention, and a CAM point will be deducted. Parents will have to come to the office to pick up the phone from an administrator after dismissal (4:10-4:30)
3rd Offense:
  • Cell phone will be confiscated, scholar will receive a 1 day suspension for habitual violation of rules, and CAM points will be deducted. Parents will have to come to the office to pick up the phone from an administrator after dismissal (4:10-4:30)


Coming to School Prepared:

Please be sure your scholar comes to school prepared with all documents and necessary items. The front office will not be allowed to give homework, lunch kits, or any other items to scholars once they arrive to school.


Attendance:

All scholars are expected to attend school daily. The administrative team will monitor habitual tardiness. Bus transportation is provided if you are unable to get your scholar to school on time.
