Parent Teacher Conferences THIS WEEK
This week we will be conducting conferences on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Your child's teacher will be providing you with a meeting date and time based on the information you shared with them on the forms sent home last week. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions about your scheduled conference.
Chili Cook-off Coming Soon
Mark your calendars for Friday, February 17th. West Carrollton Schools will be hosting our 2nd annual chili cookoff between the firefighters of West Carrollton, Moraine and Miami Township. The event will take place at the high school from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This event is FREE. We will be accepting donations for Pirate Packs. This organization benefits our students and families by providing meals for the weekend.
Yearbooks for Sale
Your child should have brought home a yearbook order form in the last few weeks. The deadline to order is Friday, February 10th. The cost is $12 cash (exact change only) or check. Checks must be made out to "Lifetouch".
Recognizing Achievements of Quarter Two and Kicking Off Quarter Three
We spent some time recognizing our students' achievements in second quarter on Friday. Several first through fifth grade students were recognized as having perfect attendance. We also recognized those students who were Pirate Achievers for second quarter. During this assembly we had some important visitors. Dr. Clifford and the Youth Leadership Board members from the high school came to pump us up for the second semester. They discussed the importance of setting goals and working hard, as well as the importance of using our minds, muscles and imaginations.
Spotlight on Asset Builders
We would like to take a moment to recognize our Asset Builders of the Month for the months of November through January. Congratulations and thank you for exhibiting so many of the 40 Developmental Assets we strive for in West Carrollton.
Second Grade Celebrates Dr. King
Mrs. Longworth's 2nd grade students learned all about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. last week. The students learned about his fight for civil rights, equality, his famous "I Have a Dream" speech, and how we all look different but are the same on the inside.
