Bencik's Buzz

Hometown Families:

Our staff would like to wish all of the Hometown families a wonderful spring break. Take some time to celebrate one another, rest, and enjoy the weather. Spring break runs from March 20th thru March 27th. Classes will resume on March 28th.

Just a reminder when dropping off students in the morning, the front of the building is for drop off only. You may not park in the front of the building to drop off your student. If you would like to walk your child to the door, please park on the side streets. I will be asking cars to be moved starting when we return from spring break.

Students will be able to wear green on March 17th to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Hometown Spring Concert

Chorus, second, and third graders preformed today and their songs filled the gymnasium with such a beautiful sound. A big thank you to Mrs. Hemminger for working so hard with our students! Click here to view the entire performance.

How long and what grades have you taught?

-- I've taught First Grade, Early Childhood Self-Contained and Blended Preschool!

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

-- I love to travel! I would love to travel to Peru and see Machu Picchu!

What is the best thing about working at Hometown?

-- I know it's been said before but I really like working with the staff at Hometown! Everyone is so nice and welcoming! I also love my students and the sense of community in the school and around the school!

What is your favorite food?

-- Anything Greek!! I fell in love with Greek food when we visited Greece and now it's something me and my husband travel around Chicago to find the best!

Who is someone you admire and why?

-- My Mom! She is the most self-less and caring person I have ever met. Ever since I was little she's been a superhero in my eyes! I would seriously be lost without her. I aspire to be like her everyday!

If you see Mrs. Quran around the school make sure you say hello!!
