Roosevelt Weekly Parent Info
Hey Roosevelt families...here are a few reminders for the week:
~ BINGO Prizes: At Rocky Time next week (Thursday), we will be playing WINTER BINGO. We have some prizes left from last year, but we would LOVE it if parents might be willing to donate some additional prizes to use this year. Small items work best. IF you are willing/able to donate prizes, please drop them off in the office (or have your child drop them off) before Thursday. Thanks so much!
~ Drop-off: Now that snow is here and piled up near the street, it's really important to NOT block the cleared part of the sidewalks leading up to the building. If you are dropping a student off and leaving, it's not as much of a problem. IF you are parking and staying, then it blocks staff and students' ability to safely come onto our playground. We don't want anyone falling, and keeping these access points open is critical to everyone's safety.
~ Climb to Feed Kids: This year, Roosevelt has TWO teams who are participating in the Climb to Feed Kids event to be held on Sunday, January 5. Thus, we need to raise $2000, a lofty goal for sure! And we need your help. We are planning a number of things to help raise funds, including Dollar Dress up days on December 17 (Hat Day) and December 20 (PJ Day). Have your child bring a dollar on these days if they wish to participate. We will also have a fundraising competition between the two teams. Your child may make donations to one of our teams, and the team that raises the most money will bet to dress up the other team however they would like at our January celebration. Fun times for a GREAT cause! Your support is appreciated!
~ Winter Break BINGO: Your child will be bringing home a BINGO sheet next Friday, December 20 (it's included as a PDF below if you'd like to print it yourself). Students who do all of the items on the BINGO card and complete a blackout can return that BINGO card on or before our January celebration. The Blizzard Cup Challenge will also be held again this year, starting on December 26. Any minutes read on MyOn get added to our school's total--we've won this a number of years and would like to continue this tradition!
~ Lost & Found: This GROWS by the day, and it will be cleaned out over Winter Break. Please, please, please have your child check for items which have gone missing.

Mr. Gooding's Song
Mr. Gooding wrote a rap song and shared it with the school at our December celebration. Some of the students in his classroom supported him during this song by dancing along as he sang. Awesome!
