Bobcat Broadcast
June 5, 2020
A Message from Mrs. Caudill
As I reflect on this past year, it amazes me how quickly it went by. I cannot thank each and every one of you for the part you played in making this year a success (Yes, despite everything it was a success). Thank you for supporting your students and the staff each and every day. This year's successes are because of you.
I am so lucky to be a member of the Amerman family. It truly is a blessing to be here, I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else. This will be the last official Bobcat Broadcast for the 2019-2020 school-year. I wish every one of you a safe, healthy and fun summer, enjoy your time as a family. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you in September, ready to do it all over again! Well... maybe not exactly the same again :)
Be well. Stay safe. Remain hopeful.
Devon Caudill

The ABCs of Summer
School’s out for summer!!! And while it will be nice to rest, relax and recreate, some of our kiddos might still need a little bit of structure. How about building a summer of adventures and new activities. Taking breaks are good for the whole family, so is stepping outside our comfort zone from time to time. This helps us grow and become more well-rounded individuals. Having choice over activities is empowering too. So, why not challenge your child and/or your family to complete a whole alphabet of adventures this summer? For each letter of the alphabet go somewhere familiar or new, try something new or celebrate a tradition. How about learning to kayak for K or try origami for O? What about making homemade ice cream for I or check out the Detroit Riverfront for D? Adventures can happen in your own backyard. Included below is a list to get you started and two helpers to track your memories. Whatever you choose to do this summer, have a wonderful time!!!

The Three Best Math Questions to Ask your kids
Understanding math is not just understanding basic arithmetic, it is understanding the why, how, and what of math. You don't have to have a lesson plan in order to help your kids think about math. In fact, there are a few easy questions that you can use to guide your kids' conversations into fertile mathematical territory in almost any situation. The article, The Three Best Math Questions to Ask Your Kids is a quick read on how you can continue to help your child with math over the summer months.
